Effect of Group Impromptu Music Therapy on Emotional Regulation and Depressive Symptoms of College Students: A Randomized Controlled Study
with Ming Zhang, Yi Ding, Xuefeng Jiang, Nannan Xu, Lei Zhang, and Wenjie Yu
    Frontiers in Psychology 13. 2022.
Difficulty in emotional regulation is significantly correlated with depression. Depression is a psychological disease that seriously affects the physical and mental health of college students. Therefore, it is of great importance to develop diversified preventive interventions such as group impromptu music therapy. The main purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of GIMT on the improvement of emotional regulation ability and the reduction of depressive symptoms in college students. A 71…Read more

This article adopts a Systemic Functional Linguistics framework of appraisal theory to interpret the behavioural and attitudinal resources in written narratives and proposes the idea of proximity as an alternative representation to explain the meaning-making process of Chinese students’ possible selves in a less examined context of UK-based transnational university in China, by focusing on the lexical and semantic explanation of how these Chinese students use and are mediated by contextual resou…Read more

Based on multiteam system theory and creativity theory, this study explores the influencing factor model of multiteam digital creativity in the action phase through two cross-validation studies, filling a theoretical gap and responding to the research call. Study 1 is a qualitative analysis method to fully explore the relevant influencing factors and enhance the theoretical saturation. Study 2 is an optimized DEMATEL method, known as the CL-WG DEMATEL analysis method, which cross-validates the n…Read more

This paper examines the spillover effect between bitcoin, gold, crude oil, and major stock markets by using the MSV model with dynamic correlation and Granger causality. The empirical results of the DC-GC-MSV model are logically correct and convergent. The DIC test result has proved that the DC-GC-MSV model is better and more accurate. Bitcoin has no significant Granger causality spillover effect than other assets. As a safe haven product for stock assets, gold price has one-way spillover effect…Read more

Deep Brain Stimulation for Parkinson’s Disease During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Patient Perspective
with Chencheng Zhang, Xian Qiu, Yingying Zhang, Zhengyu Lin, Peng Huang, Yixin Pan, Eric A. Storch, Bomin Sun, and Dianyou Li
Frontiers in Human Neuroscience 15. 2021.
BackgroundPublic health guidelines have recommended that elective medical procedures, including deep brain stimulation surgery for Parkinson’s disease, should not be scheduled during the coronavirus pandemic to prevent further virus spread and overload on health care systems. However, delaying DBS surgery for PD may not be in the best interest of individual patients and is not called for in regions where virus spread is under control and inpatient facilities are not overloaded.MethodsWe administ…Read more

This paper is concerned with the multivariate stochastic volatility modeling of the stock market. We investigate a DGC-t-MSV model to find the historical volatility spillovers between nine markets, including S&P, Nasdaq, SSE, SZSE, HSI, FTSE, CAC, DAX, and Nikkei indices. We use the Bayesian network to analyze the spreading of herd behavior between nine markets. The main results are as follows: the DGC-t-MSV model we considered is a useful way to estimate the parameter and fit the data well in t…Read more

This study describes the results of interventions with the Konstanz Method of Dilemma Discussion by Georg Lind, with 89 economics undergraduate participants sampled from Guangdong province. The participants’ mean C-score in the Moral Judgment Test increased only a little because of the teacher’s little experience in using KMDD, but otherwise the intervention produced good results: the participants showed great interest in KMDD although this teaching method is very different from the typical Chin…Read more

Public and experts’ perceptions of benefits and risks of nanotechnology constitute an important element of nanoethics studies. On the one hand, compared with traditional ethics, nanoethics is a future-oriented ethics. The construction of ethical norms requires public participation. On the other hand, nanotechnology is characterized by uncertainty. Our previous research showed the Chinese public’s support for nanotechnology was associated more with beliefs, including views of technology and the w…Read more

In sprint track events, the starting reaction time is an important professional capacity of the athletes, and it is closely related to their performance. This study examines the reaction time and the results of the male and female sprinters participating in the World Athletics Championships from 2011 to 2019 in the 100 m, 200 m, 100 m, and 110 m hurdles. The researchers used least squares estimation, multivariate analysis of variance, and other methods and theories to construct a double logarith…Read more

Book Review: The Interoceptive Mind: From Homeostasis to Awareness (review)

    Frontiers in Psychology 11 637640. 2021.
Edited by Manos Tsakiris and Helena De Preester, (Oxford, Oxford University Press), 2019, 368 pages,To understand the nature of mind, cognitive scientists of all theoretical strands may benefit from considering experimental evidence of cognition (perception, attention, memory, etc.) alongside phenomenologies of (conscious) experiences and feelings-let's say, proprioceptive, exteroceptive, interoceptive, and bodily self-conscious. Roughly, the former dimension of scientific studies of mind seems …Read more

A tail Cone version of the halpern–läuchli theorem at a large cardinal
    Journal of Symbolic Logic 84 (2): 473-496. 2019.
The classical Halpern–Läuchli theorem states that for any finite coloring of a finite product of finitely branching perfect trees of height ω, there exist strong subtrees sharing the same level set such that tuples in the product of the strong subtrees consisting of elements lying on the same level get the same color. Relative to large cardinals, we establish the consistency of a tail cone version of the Halpern–Läuchli theorem at a large cardinal (see Theorem 3.1), which, roughly speaking, deal…Read more

Using almost-everywhere theorems from analysis to study randomness
with Kenshi Miyabe and André Nies
    Bulletin of Symbolic Logic 22 (3): 305-331. 2016.
We study algorithmic randomness notions via effective versions of almost-everywhere theorems from analysis and ergodic theory. The effectivization is in terms of objects described by a computably enumerable set, such as lower semicomputable functions. The corresponding randomness notions are slightly stronger than Martin–Löf randomness. We establish several equivalences. Given a ML-random realz, the additional randomness strengths needed for the following are equivalent.all effectively closed cla…Read more

For achieving the sustainable development goals, green development has been raised to a high position for cities in China. The economic development in Northwest China is slow, the ecological environment is fragile, and the mineral resources are rich. Only through green development can we realize the comprehensive income of regional production development, rich life, and good ecology. This paper measures the green development efficiency of 30 prefecture-level cities in Northwest China by using DE…Read more

Morphological Metaphor Mapping of Moral Concepts in Chinese Culture
with Yingjie Liu, Kang Li, Lina Li, Yuerui Lin, Baxter DiFabrizio, and He Wang
    Frontiers in Psychology 11. 2020.
According to conceptual metaphor theory, individuals are thought to understand or express abstract concepts by using referents in the physical world—right and left for moral and immoral, for example. In this research, we used a modified Stroop paradigm to explore how abstract moral concepts are metaphorically translated onto physical referents in Chinese culture using the Chinese language. We presented Chinese characters related to moral and immoral abstract concepts in either non-distorted or d…Read more

Modernization is the common pursuit of human society, and culture, especially the advanced culture of choice determines the direction of modernization. Advanced culture is all the fine blend of history and culture, the crystallization of human civilization, is the sublimation of the spirit of the times, is the modernization and social development, cohesion and internal thrust. The proletariat as a ruling party, the ability to choose the guidelines of advanced culture and always represent the for…Read more
