I am an assistant professor in the Department of Philosophy at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.

I am engaged in two main research programs concerning 1) "rightful machines," which are highly autonomous machine agents that respect principles of justice and law, and 2) a "principle of veracity," which in certain conditions entails a rightfully enforceable duty of truthfulness when reporting expert knowledge such as scientific knowledge.
