    Justicia global, derechos y riesgo
Philosophica: International Journal for the History of Philosophy 29 (58): 145-161. 2021.
The Neoplatonic reference nuclearly condenses a historically consolidated proposal for the intelligibility of Philosophy. Characterizing the philosophical meaning inherent in the original formation of Neoplatonism, Pierre Hadot develops a perspective according to which Philosophy is equivalent to the existential configuration of texts produced in classical antiquity. In the present study, there are three moments of reflection: 1. the relationship of mutual determination between philosophy and ph…Read more

    Neoplatonismo Político Medieval
Philosophica: International Journal for the History of Philosophy 29 (58): 9-31. 2021.
The political foundation tends to be consummated to the exact extent that any referent of theological content is completely excluded. Constantly associated with the intelligible and with the ideal of deifying man, neither Neoplatonism nor medieval thought could contemplate any reference of political content. This article aims to show precisely that the medieval reception of Proclus, simultaneously with the mediation of Pseudo-Dionysus, reveals a political meaning present in the thought of the Gr…Read more

Philosophica: International Journal for the History of Philosophy 14 (27): 87-105. 2006.
This paper analyses the power of metaphor which is central to Bonaventure’s literary expression, his spirituality, his philosophical and theological speculation; Considers which human language is ultimately a participation in divine expressionism; Analyses the notion of metaphor in Bonaventure’s treatment of human language; Expose his contribution for the «linguistic turn». All of this will support the thesis of this paper: that language as expression is the most fundamental metaphysical/ontolog…Read more
  • A Posição de Anselmo Face ao Uso do Poder Civil
Philosophica: International Journal for the History of Philosophy 17 (34): 371-386. 2009.
The present paper investigates Anselm’s position regarding the use of the civil power, especially in the period between his nomination for Archbishop of Canterbury and the reconciliation with Henry I based on some of his Letters. Three points are articulated: 1. The configuration of the historical and juridical, the Cluniac Reform and the Papal Revolution. 2. The apprehension of Anselm conceming issue the justification of the power: insistently reaffirms his fidelity to the apostolic authority, …Read more

The Principle of Non-contradiction in Metaphysics IV
Proceedings of the XXIII World Congress of Philosophy 2 (2): 215-220. 2018.
In this paper, I wish to take account of the formulation of the PNC in Aristotle from a metaphysical point of view. After some comments on the arguments presented in the Aristotelian text, I will briefly discuss: 1) the highly topical principle in metaphysics understood as a ‘four-category ontology’ or newly defined as “the most general attempt to make sense of things” ; 2) the challenge to this principle, coming from the so-called ‘aletheists’ or from ‘Hyper-physics’.

A causalidade em Pedro da Fonseca
    Veritas – Revista de Filosofia da Pucrs 54 (3): 112-127. 2009.
In this paper we intend to present briefly the way Fonseca deals with the doctrine of causation in his Commentaries on the Metaphysics of Aristotle. We shall begin with the presentation of the map of the disputations on causation in that work (I), then will refer to the position of Fonseca on the definition of cause (II), the relation between cause and principle (III) and, finally, his defense of the Aristotelian four causes (IV)

Pedro da Fonseca e a Recepção da Metafísica de Aristóteles na Segunda Metade do Séc. XVI
Philosophica: International Journal for the History of Philosophy 7 (14): 165-178. 1999.
It is claimed that in order to a better understanding of the reception of the text of the Metaphysics of Aristotle in the second half of the sixteenth Century one must carefully distinguish the commentaries to the whole work from texts that treat particular questions. Although much work is still to be done, the great commentary of Pedro da Fonseca appears as the major original commentary to the Metaphysics produced during that period. The metaphysical works of Fonseca and Suárez appear against t…Read more
