I am a philosopher (PhD 21, U of Toronto) and a mathematician (PhD 15, Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal). I am a Chancellor's Fellow (tenure-track assistant professor) in the philosophy department and the Futures Institute at the University of Edinburgh. Prior to this, I was a visiting research scientist at Google DeepMind and a postdoctoral research fellow at the Australian National University. My work is on philosophy of science and technology, ethics/safety of computing and artificial intelligence, and increasingly their intersection with socio-political philosophy and philosophy of language.
