Please see my website (catherinemmsmith.com) for more information about my research and teaching!

I am currently a graduate student in the Sage School of Philosophy at Cornell University. My research is in Kant (particularly Kant's ethics) and in normative ethics more broadly. I am working primarily on Kant's notion of immorality and its relationship to happiness and arrogance in human beings. I am also interested in doing more work on questions about respect, both in Kant's ethics as well as in current political, moral, and religious discourse.
