Cliff Stagoll is Honorary Research Fellow in Philosophy at the University of Western Australia. His qualifications in philosophy include two PhDs, the first from University of Warwick (where he was a Commonwealth Scholar) and the second from University of Western Australia, an MA from Texas A&M University, and a BA from Deakin University. He also holds tertiary qualifications in economics, industrial relations, and management. Cliff is currently researching William James’s ethics of self-creation, phenomenological interpretations of James, and how James’s conceptions of habit might be utilized in the fields of management and leadership.

In addition to his academic work, he has been an Officer of the Royal Australian Air Force and a consultant with Boston Consulting Group, and has held management positions with Qantas Airways, Campbell Soup Company/Arnott’s Biscuits, and BHP.
