Darby Vickers

Dr. Darby Vickers is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the University of San Diego. She wrote her dissertation, Is Virtue an Expertise?: The Epistemology of Virtue in Plato’s Meno & Republic (2021), on the intersection of Plato's epistemology, ethics, and philosophy of education. She has published two articles on AI Ethics with Dr. Nicholas Smith (Alabama A&M University): "Statistically Responsible Artificial Intelligences" (2021) and "Living Well With AI: Virtue, Education, and Artificial Intelligence" (2024). She also served as a co-author and co-investigator on a study of doctoral education with Dr. Barbara Sarnecka (Cognitive Sciences, UC Irvine): "Doctoral Writing Workshops: A preregistered, randomized controlled trial" (2022)
