I'm the Wyn and William Y. Hutchinson Professor of Ethics and Public Life in the Sage School of Philosophy at Cornell University. My published research has been on agency and responsibility, personal identity and ethics, humor and morality, social/political philosophy, moral psychology, and applied ethics. I organize and host the biennial New Orleans Workshop on Agency and Responsibility (from which the series I edit, Oxford Studies in Agency and Responsibility, draws its papers), I was an associate editor at the journal Ethics from 2017-2023, and, with David Sobel, co-edited the moral/political philosophy blog PEA Soup until 2022.
