with Richard Huan Xu, Ling Ming Zhou, Eliza Laiyi Wong, and Jing Hui Chang
    Frontiers in Psychology 11. 2020.
Objective: The objective of this study was to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Chinese version of the decision regret scale. Methods: The data of 704 patients who completed the DRSc were used for the analyses. We evaluated the construct, convergent/discriminant, and known-group validity; internal consistency and test–retest reliability; and the item invariance of the DRSc. A receiver operating characteristic curve was employed to confirm the optimal cutoff point of the scale. Results:…Read more

Social Trust and Corporate Misconduct: Evidence from China
with Hongling Han, Yun Ke, and Kam C. Chan
    Journal of Business Ethics 151 (2): 539-562. 2018.
We study whether greater social trust is associated with a lower incidence of corporate misconduct. Both social norm and network theory suggest that social trust can affect managerial behavior and reduce the likelihood of misconduct behavior. Consistent with this prediction, we find that social trust is negatively associated with corporate misconduct behavior. Moreover, we show that, when media coverage is higher, the negative relation between social trust and corporate misconduct behavior is mo…Read more

Corporate Philanthropy and Tunneling: Evidence from China
with Jun Chen, Jamie Tong, and Feida Zhang
    Journal of Business Ethics 150 (1): 135-157. 2018.
This paper examines the association between corporate philanthropy and tunneling by controlling shareholders. Using a unique dataset from China, the paper finds evidence that firms donating more are less likely to tunnel. The negative association between philanthropy and tunneling is stronger when firms are faced with more severe agency conflicts, as indicated by lower largest shareholding, fewer growth opportunities, lower state ownership, and weaker product market competition. The results sugg…Read more

Star CEOs and ESG performance in China: An integrated view of role identity and role constraints logics
with Mengyao Li, Min Huang, and Xiaobo Li
Business Ethics, the Environment and Responsibility 32 (4): 1411-1428. 2023.
This study seeks to shed light on the effect of star CEOs on the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance of Chinese firms. Relying on the theoretical perspective of role identity and role constraints, we analyze data from 1222 Chinese firms listed on the Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges from 2006 to 2019. The results analyzed using the ordinary least squares estimate method reveal a positive effect of star CEOs' extreme confidence and legitimacy pressure mechanisms on ESG pe…Read more

Using Adaptive Object Model to Basketball Tracking Algorithm and Simulation
with Tongjin Qian, Peng Yao, Mei Guo, and Yuan Yao
    Complexity 2020 1-11. 2020.
The adaptive object model method is an effective way to develop dynamic and configurable adaptive software. It has the characteristics of metamodel, description drive, and runtime reflection. First, the core idea of the adaptive object model is explained; then, the five modes of establishing the metamodel in the adaptive object model architecture, the model engine, and supporting tools are analyzed; and the basketball tracking algorithm of the adaptive object model is discussed. Secondly, a two-…Read more

The notion of “agent bookkeeping” was proposed when the “Accounting Law of the People’s Republic of China” was updated in 1993. Since their business is specialized in serving small and micro-enterprises, this has created the industry characteristic of generally small in the size of company and low in the salary of employees in Chinese agent bookkeeping companies. Such characteristic results in a series of problems including negative work attitude of employees in the development process, which se…Read more

© 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. One of the major findings from multimodal neuroimaging studies in the past decade is that the human brain is anatomically and functionally organized into large-scale networks. In resting state fMRI, spatial patterns emerge when temporal correlations between various brain regions are tallied, evidencing networks of ongoing intercortical cooperation. However, the dynamic structure governing the brain's spontaneous activity is far less understood due to the short and …Read more
