Dr Greg Walker

I am political theorist working on interdisciplinary basis with the related field of legal philosophy. My principal focus is normative rather than historical and I have a particular interest in the moral and political philosophy of Aquinas and the contribution it can make to contemporary normative political theory, especially in relation to theories of liberalism, human rights and political/legal reasoning. My research interests include applied political and legal philosophy and I am currently drafting a journal article on the prospects for a political constructivism based on natural law intended for submission to The American Journal of Jurisprudence. These interests are reflected in my PhD thesis, which outlined a species of political liberalism and an understanding of human rights developed from contemporary interpretations of Aquinas’s moral, legal and political theory.
