I'm an assistant professor at Brown University. My research focusses on teleological causation and explanation in ancient Greek philosophy. I'm especially interested in the different kinds of agency we find in teleological processes in the natural world and in the domain of human action. I'm currently working on teleology in Aristotle's Meteorology, priority relations and teleology in Aristotle's Generation of Animals, methods for finding teleological explanations in Aristotle's Parts of Animals and De Anima (with Jessica Gelber), and teleology and agency in Plato's Alcibiades. I'm also a member of the Open Plato Project.
