I am an Associate Professor at the Department of Political Science, University College London.

I’m a political philosopher of the social world. My work examines social norms; social emotions; and the nature of injustice and hierarchies; the ways in which people negotiate their social standing and how our social interactions enable – and constrain – our freedoms and our constructions of our selves. I’ve explored these themes through topics including microaggressions, the emotion of offence, civic education, freedom of association and heckling, the value of encounters, humour, and theories of egalitarianism.
