I work on topics in moral psychology and agency, self-knowledge and self-opacity, ethics, and aesthetics. My thinking and writing is typically grounded in the work on Kant and Freud, and I also work on Baldwin, Du Bois, Cavell, Murdoch, Williams, and on film. I'm currently writing a book tentatively titled Opaque Animals: Agency, Ethics, and Experience.
