Housamedden Darwish

Dr. Housamedden Darwish earned his Master’s degree and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Bordeaux University. He worked as a freelance researcher, assistant professor, visiting researcher on the subjects of Eastern philosophy and the Arab uprising, and on (mis)understanding trans-cultural concepts, as well as on political Islam and modernity. He has participated in presentations and panel discussions worldwide, with a focus on the Arab and Islamic thought, migration and cultural studies, as well as political and moral philosophy. Dr. Darwish has numerous publications in magazines about the Arab Spring, refugees and integration. He also published several books about the hermeneutical philosophy and the French philosopher Paul Ricœur as well as critical Texts on Arab Political Thought, Syrian Revolution and Asylum. Currently, he is a senior researcher at the Humanities Centre for Advanced Studies "Multiple Secularities - Beyond the West, Beyond Modernities", Leipzig University, Germany.
