I am Professor of Philosophy at UCL, where I have been since 2008. I previously spent four years (2004-8) as a Lecturer in Ethics at the Centre for Professional Ethics at Keele University, and a year as a Temporary Lecturer in Philosophy at Birkbeck (2003-4) and University of Surrey Roehampton (2002-3). I received my PhD (an examination of Kantian accounts of morality) from UCL in 2002.

I work in ethics and political philosophy, and have a particular interest in the applied end of these disciplines. My main research interests are in the philosophy of intellectual property, bioethics, public health ethics, and methodology in ethical thinking
