My work spans the area between the philosophy of mind, construed broadly, social philosophy and philosophy of the human sciences. An aim of my research is to develop an integrative account of the social constitution of human mental capacities within the framework of a ‘political philosophy of mind’. I am moreover interested in the nature and methodological role of concepts in the humanities and the natural sciences. A more recent research interest is in interdisciplinary affect studies, and on bringing work on philosophical methodology into conversation with feminist scholarship and work in postcolonial studies and critical race theory.
