My training is in Anglo-American and environmental philosophy, particularly environmental ethics and aesthetics. I have published in areas such as the ethics and aesthetics of environmental art, the aesthetic implications of contemporary ecology, and the role of aesthetic values in science. Topics in my current and future research include the ethics and aesthetics of noise pollution, professional ethics and the role of advocacy in teaching, and the democratic potential of public art.
