Associate Professor of Philosophy at the University of Utah. My teaching and research interests have to do with the study of human reasoning. I have ongoing research projects in the philosophy of science (pertaining to explanation, confirmation, and scientific method), mainstream epistemology (regarding the internalism / externalism debate, nature of understanding, and induction), formal epistemology (on inductive logics, explication, and formal accounts of epistemic coherence), and the psychology of human reasoning (heuristics and biases, and fallacies).
