I am the Parfit-Radcliffe Richards Senior Research Fellow at the Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics, The University of Oxford

Prior to this, I held a Wellcome Trust Society and Ethics Fellowship. My fellowship project was entitled “The Ethics of Novel Therapeutic Applications of Deep Brain Stimulation”.

My research interests lie primarily in issues concerning personal autonomy in practical ethics, particularly topics pertaining to informed consent. I have also written on the ethics of human embryonic stem cell research, gene-editing technologies, and human enhancement.
