Jurgis (George) Brakas, Associate Professor of Philosophy, has taught at Marist College since 1990. He received his A.B. in philosophy from Princeton University and his M.Phil. and Ph.D. in philosophy from Columbia University. His areas of specialization are Aristotle and ancient Greek philosophy; Rand; logic and the philosophy of logic; and ethics and meta-ethics. He is currently working on a second book: Aristotle on the Good. It will attempt to reconstruct Aristotle’s view of the nature and foundation of the good–the good in general, not just the human good.
