I research and write in the areas of 19th-century European philosophy (especially Friedrich Nietzsche), ethics (including moral psychology), and environmental philosophy. My work on Nietzsche focuses on his philosophical psychology and the problem of nihilism (especially affective nihilism) in his thought.
