After a brief introduction encompassing relevant facts concerning the history of the weekly magazine, formal changes to the magazine and its content are analysed. The transformation of Przekrój after 2000 is the most extensively discussed aspect, as this period in the magazine’s existence was considered to be the beginning of regular and sweeping changes in its formula. The article is an attempt to construct a hypothesis about the changes which contributed to the disappearance of the weekly magazine from the market. The aim of this analysis is to indicate the reasons for the crisis of one of the most popular and longest-running weekly magazines in Poland.
