Essence and Essentialism

Kathrin Koslicki is Professor of Theoretical Philosophy at the University of Neuchâtel. Koslicki is originally from Munich, Germany; she received her undergraduate degree in Philosophy from SUNY Stony Brook in 1990 and her PhD from MIT in 1995. Before moving to Switzerland in 2020, she held various positions in the US and Canada; most recently she was Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Epistemology and Metaphysics at the University of Alberta. Her interests in philosophy lie mainly in metaphysics, philosophy of language and ancient Greek philosophy, especially Aristotle.
