Khalil Andani is currently writing his first book based on his dissertation, titled “Revelation in Islam: Qur’anic, Sunni, and Shi‘i Ismaili Perspectives”, which is a historical investigation of Islamic theologies of revelation in the formative and classical periods of Islam, beginning with the Qur’an and extending through Qur’anic commentary (tafsir), Sunni and Shi‘i prophetic tradition (hadith), Sunni theology (kalam), and Shi‘i Ismaili philosophy. He has book chapters in The Oxford Handbook of Islamic Philosophy, Deconstructing Islamic Studies, Global-Critical Philosophy of Religion, The Routledge Companion to the Quran, and A Guide to Sufi Literature; and two prior articles in Sacred Web. Andani has taught several courses in Islamic studies and religious studies as a Graduate Teaching Fellow. His recent conference papers and academic talks are featured in the Research Blog.
He also holds Master of Arts (AM) and Master of Theological Studies degrees (2014) specializing in Islamic philosophy and Ismaili thought from Harvard University. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and articled with KPMG Canada (2005-2011). He completed Bachelor of Mathematics (BMath) and Master of Accounting degrees at the University of Waterloo (2008).
