What is the status of Socrates' first speech in the Phaedrus? Its intermediary position between Lysias' speech and the palinody renders the answer to this question pivotal to the unity of the first part and, consequently, of the entire Phaedrus. The traditional interpretation is that Socrates' first speech corrects Lysias' speech in terms of form, leaving Socrates' second speech to correct the substance. The present study proposes a re-reading of the initial speech from the point of view of its enunciation: inserted into a narrative in which it is enunciated by an αἱμύλος in an attempt to seduce a παῖς. I argue that this point of view of enunciation, by approaching Socrates' first speech upstream of the distinction between content and form, allows us to offer it more power, particularly in the context of the psychagogical unity of the Phaedrus. Quel est le statut du premier discours discours de Socrate dans le Phèdre? Sa place intermédiaire entre le discours de Lysias et la palinodie fait de la réponse à cette question un enjeu primordial pour l’unité de la première partie et, par suite, de l’intégralité du Phèdre. L’interprétation traditionnelle considère que le premier discours de Socrate corrige le discours de Lysias du point de vue de la forme, laissant au second discours de Socrate la tâche d’en corriger le fond. Je propose de relire ce premier discours du point de vue de son énonciation : inséré dans un récit où il est énoncé par un αἱμύλος pour tenter de séduire un παῖς. Je soutiens que ce point de vue de l’énonciation, en abordant le premier discours de Socrate en amont de la distinction entre fond et forme, permet de lui offrir plus de puissance, en particulier dans le cadre de l’unité psychagogique du Phèdre.
