Social activist (1966-present); social worker (1976-present); sociologist (1991-present); social work educator (2003-Present, emeritus since summer 2021). Long involved (1993-present) in seeking to apply theory of human need to enrich the theory base of social work. Simultaneously involved (1991-present) in the development of a typology of theories of oppression, mechanistic dehumanization and exploitation, in order to understand what are now known as microaggressions. Since 1999, have been developing a normative, needs-based sociological theorization of human injustice, as published in 2019 in the sociological journal Humanity and Society.
