Nuno Castanheira

Nuno Pereira Castanheira is a Visiting Professor at the Postgraduate Program in Philosophy of the Federal University of Pelotas. He was a postdoctoral researcher at the Postgraduate Program in Philosophy of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul and, previously, also a postdoctoral researcher at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. Member of the Center for Philosophy of the University of Lisbon with a PhD in Political Philosophy. His research interests reside mainly in the interconnections between ethics, politics, ontology, phenomenology, critical theory and philosophies of existence, with a focus on Hannah Arendt and the ecological crisis. Nuno has worked in environment NGO’s, in the area of environmental policy and communication, and was a member of the managing body of SEA – Sociedade de Ética Ambiental, a society for promotion of environmental ethics.
