I'm a Philosophy PhD student at the ANU. My research is about whether reasons can be weighed along different dimensions of normative strength. E.g. can a reason merely justify things without also requiring anything of you? I’m especially interested in whether a multidimensional view of reason strengths can be used to solve various problems within normative ethics – particularly puzzles surrounding supererogation, population ethics (the Procreation Asymmetry), and the ethics of creating and fulfilling voluntary obligations.
