I am a philosophically inclined sociologist and social worker at the Queensland University of Technology, who teaches social theory and social policy in the social work and human services programs. My aim is to help educate students to become critical professionals and citizens for a more just, democratic and sustainable society. A key component of my pedagogy and research is to build peoples' capacity for critical analysis, reflection and action. Philosophy and social theory are both integral to this practical enterprise insofar as they can provide some lucidity in the context of our doings.
