My research has focused primarily on human agency, particularly intentional action, free will, and moral responsibility. I’ve also written on practical reason, mental causation, and dispositions.

I've authored two books: LIBERTARIAN ACCOUNTS OF FREE WILL (OUP, 2003) and OMISSIONS: AGENCY, METAPHYSICS, AND RESPONSIBILITY (OUP, 2014). I co-edited, with Michael McKenna and Angela M. Smith, THE NATURE OF MORAL RESPONSIBILITY: NEW ESSAYS (OUP 2015).
