Randy Gross

I am a Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Nurse Specialist in New York City. My clinical work has focused on women's cancers - both breast and gynecologic. I also have extensive experience in psychiatric mental health nursing. I am a college professor, and I teach nursing students adult health nursing, psychiatric nursing, and oncology nursing in the classroom, the lab, and in the clinical setting. My area of research is directed in two areas: 1) nurse stereotypes and their impact on the nurse workforce, specifically recruitment and retentions, and 2) malignant bowel obstructions in gynecologic cancer patients. In addition, an emerging area of interest are the concepts of moral distress, moral injury, and moral resilience and how they resonate in nurses and other health care professionals.
