Dr. Ravinder Rena (an Indian national) is currently working (since March 2008) as the Head of Economics, Department of Business Studies, PNG University of Technology, Papua New Guinea. Dr. Rena is an economic researcher, writer, editor and advisor with 16 years of teaching and research experience both at Indian and African Universities.
He earned his Ph.D. from the Dept. of Economics, Osmania University, Hyderabad, India, with an achievement of University Gold Medal (for the Best Ph.D. candidates/ thesis in the field of Economics/ Commerce/ Business Management).
He obtained totally 6 degrees including: M.A., B.Ed., M.Phil., Ph.D (Economics) from Osmania University and B.A., and LL.B., from Kakatiya University, Warangal, India.
Dr. Rena has worked in Eritrea for more than a decade as a Senior Lecturer and Department Head of Economics and Banking August1997- August 2004 at Asmara University, Eritrea. And then Asst. Professor of Economics at Eritrea Institute of Technology September 2004-Janury 2008.
He wrote 9 books and the recent Books are: Eritrean Economy: Problems and Prospects for Development; Financial Institutions in Eritrea published by the New African Press in December 2006.
He has widely written in the areas of Economics of Education, Globalisation and WTO, Sustainable development, development aid, Information Communication Technologies (ICT) in Education; food security strategies particularly on Eritrea and published over 200 articles(out of which 70 are peer reviewed journal publications). He has published his works in many National and International peer-reviewed Journals. Many of his Publications can be found at www.google.com search engine.
Dr. Rena is Editor-in-Chief – for the International Journal Education Economics, and Development (IJEED). He has been working as an Editorial Board Member for many International Journals include: Africa Symposium, International Journal of Scientific Research in Education (IJSRE); Indus Journal of Management and Social Sciences; Indian Journal of Science and Technology etc.,
He has presented his speech on ‘Clean Technology Diffusion in Developing and emerging Countries’ in the European Patent Forum – 6-7 May 2008 at Ljubljana, Slovenia.
