I'm interested in communicative intentions: what they are, what cognition is required for having and grasping them, and the emergence of these cognitive abilities in ontogeny and phylogeny. I'm also interested in social learning, in particular the forms of social learning that support cultural evolution and cognitive development.

While I'm first and foremost a philosopher, I also collaborate with others to study the communicative abilities of children, dogs, and non-human great apes.
