My work is at the boundary between moral philosophy and legal philosophy. I defend nonconsequentialist ethical constraints on individuals, firms, and the state, focusing on three areas: ethical limits on law enforcement, law as an ethical constraint on individuals and firms, and ethical constraints on voluntary transactions.
