I'm a professor for philosophy of religion at LMU Munich. I work in the tradition of analytic philosophy of religion (well, broadly understood). My main areas of research are religious language, mysticism and religious experience, and Chinese and Buddhist philosophy.

My work focuses on topics like the noetic character of mystical and meditative experiences; the ineffability of religious experience; the meaning of religious language, especially of non-literal language, metaphor, and negative theology.
