My interests include feminist epistemology and philosophy of science. I work mostly on the relationship between methodology and epistemology in the sciences with an emphasis on the social sciences. I focus on how values affect research and the knowledge it produces. My recent work has been on the role of case studies specifically in political science. I have explored questions of causality, measurement (coding), and theory testing. In addition, I am working on the use of case studies in feminist science studies, feminist social science and mixed methods research, and causality.

I taught in the Riverside Community College District from 1992 to 2015 when I retired. I was Distinguished Faculty Lecturer in 2003 and served as Academic Senate President of Norco College from 2006-2013. I am a research associate at Centre for Humanities Engaging Science and Society at Durham University, UK and was a Visiting Fellow at the Center for Philosophy of Science, University of Pittsburgh Spring 2017.
