In every sector, women have given great contributions. But their roles and contributions could not be recognized, because it has been a male dominated society from the beginning until today. But it is also true today that whatever women have achieved it is not early for them. They have struggled and completed a long journey. We can see this struggle very easily from ancient/epic period until today. We have covered a long distance and this journey is going on. Women have been personified as Shakti and equated with the goddess. Their roles and contribution have not been recognized by religion and literature of the period consolidating thus their ignominy in ancient India. But despite of this, we cannot forget their contribution especially in Indian philosophy and spiritualism. These aspects have been identified and analyzed in this part of the study.
