Before joining the Dept. in the Fall of 2012, I taught at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (Philosophy Dept.) and the University of Cambridge (History and Philosophy of Science Dept.) Earlier on I did postdoctoral work at the University of Western Ontario. I received my PhD in Philosophy from the University of Toronto in 2006. My main area of specialization and competence is contemporary philosophy of science.

More specifically, my work straddles the boundaries of philosophy of mathematics and philosophy of physics, with a component in the foundations of probability and statistics. I have interests in epistemology and the history of analytic philosophy, focusing on Quine and Wittgenstein – hence my involvement in the activities of the Wittgenstein Archives hosted by the University of Bergen, and my membership in the editorial board of the Springer book series Nordic Wittgenstein Studies.
