My area of specialization is in Medieval philosophy but I have general research and teaching interests in metaphysics, mind, and philosophy of religion. My research focuses primarily on the philosophy of William Ockham, and, more broadly, on later-medieval discussions of topics in metaphysics and the philosophy of mind. My research these days falls into two broad areas: (1) medieval theories of consciousness and self-knowledge, (2) Ockham's metaphysics: both his methodology (there's more to it than just a 'razor') as well as his first-order commitments.
