Ted Parent is an associate professor at Nazarbayev University in Astana, Kazakhstan. He earned his Ph.D. from UNC--Chapel Hill, and was previously on the philosophy faculty at Virginia Tech and at Vanderbilt University. Primarily, he writes on philosophy of mind, ontology & metaontology, and philosophical logic, with publications in Philosophical Studies, The Journal of Philosophy, and The Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, among others. His first monograph is Self-Reflection for the Opaque Mind (Routledge, 2017) and is now drafting a second, tentatively titled A Critique of Metaphysical Thinking.
