My research is in the philosophy of science and focuses primarily on causation and explanation. I am interested in general issues concerning causal reasoning and explanation, more particular questions about causation that arise in certain sciences (esp. biology, medicine and epidemiology), and empirical studies of causal reasoning. I also have research interests in epistemology, decision theory, and the philosophy of mind.
