I recently graduated with a PhD in philosophy from UT Austin under the supervision of Michael Tye. My research focuses on the place of mind and morality in the physical world. I develop a formulation of physicalism – the metaphysical thesis that there is nothing "over and above" the physical aspects of our world – that avoids certain well-known problems. I also explore parallels between big questions in the philosophy of mind and metaethics to clarify both so that we can make progress toward solving them.
