I'm an associate professor of philosophy at the University of Nottingham. I write on moral, legal, and political theory, especially normative questions underlying criminal law and punishment.

My current research interests are punishment theory and the collateral legal consequences of a conviction. I'm also interested in the role of contempt in public institutions and public discourse.
