I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York where I was educated by the Franciscans at Saint Francis Prep. After a tour in the U.S. Navy, I attended Brooklyn College, where I studied Political Science and Philosophy. I then choose the Graduate Faculty of the New School for Social Research for my Masters and Ph.D. . My work has focused on Phenomenology old and new. My dissertation was about the connection philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre develops between the idea of intentionality and the experience of alienation.
