The Absurd and the Search for Meaning At the heart of Camus’ philosophy is the concept of the Absurd, which arises from the conflict between the human desire for significance, order, and clarity on one hand, and the silent, irrational, and indifferent world on the other1. This tension is a fundamental aspect of the human experience, as individuals continually seek purpose in life despite the universe’s lack of inherent meaning. Revolt as a Response to the Absurd Camus argues that the appropriate response to the Absurd is not suicide or despair, but rather revolt. This revolt is a persistent and courageous confrontation with the Absurd, and it involves a refusal to succumb to nihilism, a rejection of false hopes, and the continuous quest for meaning1. It is through this act of revolt that individuals affirm their own existence and derive a sense of personal freedom and identity. Camus’ Literary Expression of Philosophy Camus’ philosophical ideas are intricately woven into his literary works. Novels such as “The Stranger” (L’Étranger), “The Plague” (La Peste), and “The Fall” (La Chute) not only tell compelling stories but also serve as vehicles for his philosophical thought. In “The Myth of Sisyphus,” Camus uses the Greek mythological figure Sisyphus, condemned to eternally roll a boulder up a hill only for it to roll back down, as a metaphor for the human condition. Sisyphus, aware of his futile task, chooses to embrace his labor, thus embodying the spirit of revolt and finding happiness in the struggle itself.

Δύο επίμονα θέματα ζωντανεύουν όλη τη γραφή του Αλμπέρ Καμύ και αποτελούν τη βάση του καλλιτεχνικού του οράματος: Το ένα είναι το αίνιγμα του σύμπαντος, το οποίο είναι εκπληκτικά όμορφο αλλά αδιάφορο για τη ζωή. Το άλλο είναι το αίνιγμα του ανθρώπου, του οποίου η λαχτάρα για ευτυχία και νόημα στη ζωή παραμένει άσβεστη από την πλήρη επίγνωση της δικής του θνητότητας και της κυρίαρχης αδιαφορίας του περιβάλλοντός του. Στη ρίζα κάθε μυθιστορήματος, κάθε θεατρικού έργου, κάθε δοκιμίου, ακόμη και κάθε καταχώρησης στα τετράδιά του βρίσκεται η αδιάκοπη ανάγκη του Καμύ να διερευνήσει και να προβληματιστεί για τον ειρωνικό διπλό δεσμό που αντιλαμβανόταν ότι ήταν η ουσία της ανθρώπινης κατάστασης: Ο άνθρωπος είναι προικισμένος με τη φαντασία να συλλάβει μια ιδανική ύπαρξη, αλλά ούτε οι συνθήκες, ούτε οι δικές του δυνάμεις επιτρέπουν την επίτευξή της. Η αντίληψη αυτού του απελπιστικού διπλού δεσμού έκανε αναπόφευκτη στον Καμύ την υποχρέωση να αντιμετωπίσει ένα κυρίαρχο ηθικό ζήτημα για τον άνθρωπο: Δεδομένης της περιορισμένης κατάστασης του ανθρώπου, υπάρχουν έντιμοι όροι με τους οποίους μπορεί να ζήσει τη ζωή του;

Δεν φαίνεται πολύ σοβαρό, εκ πρώτης όψεως, να υποστηρίζουμε ότι η «ανθρωπότητα που θα έρθει» μπορεί να έχει δικαιώματα. Η απλή κοινή λογική θα υποστηρίξει ότι αυτό που δεν υπάρχει – ή αυτό του οποίου η ύπαρξη είναι προβληματική – δεν μπορεί να έχει δικαιώματα. Μόνο φυσικά ή νομικά πρόσωπα ικανά να τα διεκδικήσουν, δηλαδή να τα διεκδικήσουν με υποκείμενα ή φορείς που έχουν τη σχετική υποχρέωση να τα προστατεύσουν, μπορούν να επωφεληθούν από τα «δικαιώματα», με τη στενή έννοια αυτού του όρου. Αυστηρά μιλώντας, επομένως, ούτε τα συλλογικά όντα (ζωικά είδη) ούτε τα πράγματα (δέντρα, βράχοι κ.λπ.) ούτε τα «όντα της λογικής» («ανθρωπότητα») δεν μπορούν να έχουν δικαιώματα: εκτός εάν συγχέονται τα νόμιμα δικαιώματα. (πράγμα που συνεπάγεται νόμο και κύρωση) και ηθικό δικαίωμα που είναι μόνο μια απροσδιόριστη απαίτηση, και επομένως αμετάφραστη σε νομικούς όρους (όπως το δικαίωμα των παιδιών να αγαπιούνται για παράδειγμα...). Ή για να το θέσω διαφορετικά: δεν μπορεί να υπάρξει δικαίωμα χωρίς σύμβαση τουλάχιστον σιωπηρή, τουλάχιστον δυνητική, και χωρίς αμοιβαιότητα συμφωνημένη μεταξύ όλων των συμβαλλόμενων μερών. Για όλους αυτούς τους λόγους, η «ανθρωπότητα που θα έρθει», ή οι επόμενες γενιές, δεν μπορούν να είναι «υποκείμενα» οποιασδήποτε αξίωσης, οποιασδήποτε απαίτησης και δεν μπορούν, αυστηρά μιλώντας, να διεκδικήσουν τίποτα. Ή, για να το θέσω αλλιώς: γιατί να επιβάλλω οποιονδήποτε περιορισμό στις επιθυμίες μου από την έγνοια για τους απογόνους που δεν είναι δική μου ευθύνη και για τους οποίους δεν έχω καμία χρησιμότητα;

Η αφήγηση του Οδυσσέα είναι μια σειρά από τυχαίες συναντήσεις. Η ζωή των ηρώων και η συμπεριφορά του έχει σχεδόν ενδεχομενικό χαρακτήρα και λέμε «Σχεδόν» — γιατί το κείμενο πρέπει να γραφτεί. Η ασήμαντη απρόβλεπτη λεπτομέρεια πρέπει να μετατραπεί σε σημάδι, ώστε στη συνέχεια να εγκαταλείψει ένα μέρος της εφήμερης ιδιότητάς της και να κοινοποιηθεί, που γίνεται μέρος του ίδιου του μυθιστορήματος του Joyce. Για να αποφευχθεί ο χαρακτηρισμός σε αποσπάσματα όπως αυτό που αναφέρθηκε παραπάνω από το να παραμείνει καθαρός κατάλογος, προκύπτουν δύο στρατηγικές: (1) η ανάπτυξη μιας ελάχιστης αφηγηματικής δομής. και (2) η ανάπτυξη ενός συγκεκριμένου στυλ. Για τον Joyce, το στυλ κάνει τις λέξεις — ή συγκεκριμένες μονάδες γραφής, όπως φράσεις — να μετρούν από μόνες τους στη σχέση τους με άλλες λέξεις. Η ποίηση είναι η απόλυτη παρουσίαση ενός ύφους με αυτή την έννοια. Εάν ο Όμηρος σχηματίζει ένα δομικό ή αφηγηματικό σκηνικό στον Οδυσσέα, αυτό πρέπει να γίνει κατανοητό ως μια ανοιχτή δομή που μπορεί να φιλοξενήσει μια σχεδόν άπειρη σειρά περιεχομένων. In non – linear physics of complex systems, the term “creativity” does not simply correspond to the initial emergence of the universe (big bang) or to the sub-atomic scale processes described by quantum mechanics, the Grand Unified Theories and the superstring theory, but is expanded to all aspects of nature: i.e. physical - chemical, ecological, psychological – mental aspect. So, through the non – linear physics theory, macroscopically viewed beings are constructed, holistic forms of motion, in order for the whole to gain a non reducible (therefore the whole is constantly being produced) ontological meaning which characterizes the operation of the part. Combining the theories of quantum mechanics and relativity, it could be stated that modern physics abolishes the customary perception concerning the natural phenomena, which were concerned as a constant transformation of a fundamental substance. On the contrary, the contemporary description of the natural world by physics and mathematics corresponds to Morphodynamics, i.e. the description of the world as creation of all cosmic shapes from a zero point, on all cosmic levels. From this point of view, zero is understood as the absence of shape, while the notion of an unshaped eternal substance is weakened and does not seem to be able to be justified by the evolution of scientific thought. The “beings” and their “substance” are assimilated to forms of movement that have already been created or that are being created, and constitute motion inside motion.

Ο Νίτσε – αλλά και πιο πριν ο Σπινόζα και ο σύγχρονός του Σοπενάουερ -ηταν αυτός που συνόψισε την κληρονομιά της κρίσιμης φιλοσοφίας του 18ου αιώνα δείχνοντας στο έργο του το μέλλον της ψυχολογίας βάθους του εικοστού αιώνα. Από τότε το ασυνείδητο μέρος της ψυχής ασκεί αποφασιστική επιρροή στην ανθρώπινη αντίληψη, αυτή η ιδέα όμως εξελίχθηκε σε μεγάλο βαθμό στη δυτική σκέψη με τον Φρόυντ που την εισήγαγε στο στερέωμα της σύγχρονης πνευματικής ανησυχίας. Ήδη, από τις εισαγωγικές του διαλέξεις ο Φρόυντ, θεωρούσε ότι η ψυχανάλυση αντιπροσώπευε το τρίτο χτύπημα στην παιδική αφέλεια του ανθρώπου, το πρώτο ήταν η θεωρία του Κοπέρνικου για το ηλιοκεντρικό σύστημα και η δεύτερη ήταν η θεωρία της εξέλιξης του Δαρβίνου. Η ψυχανάλυση αποκάλυψε ότι όχι μόνο η Γη δεν είναι το κέντρο του σύμπαντος, όχι μόνο ο άνθρωπος δεν είναι το προνομιούχο επίκεντρο της κοσμικής δημιουργίας, αλλά ακόμη και ο ανθρώπινος νους και το ενσυνείδητο εγώ, η πολύτιμη αίσθηση της ύπαρξης ενός λογικού εαυτού, είναι μόνο μια πρόσφατη και επισφαλής ανάπτυξη από την αρχέγονη ταυτότητα της φύσης, και το ανθρώπινο εγώ δεν είναι καθόλου κύριος του σπιτιού του, αντίθετα είναι ενεργούμενο μη συνειδητών ενορμήσεων και παθών. Και πάλι, όπως ο Κοπέρνικος και όπως ο Καντ, αλλά σε ένα εντελώς νέο επίπεδο, ο Φρόυντ έφερε τη θεμελιώδη αναγνώριση ότι αυτό που αποκαλούμε ‘’πραγματικότητα’’ του ‘’αντικειμενικού κόσμου’’ διαμορφώνεται συμβολικά, εν πολλοίς από τις ασυνείδητες δυνάμεις που υποκινούν τον ψυχισμό του υποκειμένου, αυτό συνέβαλλε περαιτέρω στην αποδυνάμωση του ανθρώπινου ναρκισσισμού, αλλά και στη σχετικοποίηση της αλήθειας και στην απομυθοποίηση του γνωστικού εγχειρήματος.. Αλλά ενώ ήταν ο Φρόυντ που ανασήκωσε το πέπλο των ψευδαισθήσεων και των αυταπατών, ο Jung ήταν εκείνος που ανέλαβε να διερευνήσει πιο συστηματικά τις φιλοσοφικές συνέπειες των ανακαλύψεων της δομικής ψυχολογίας. Εν μέρει αυτό συνέβη επειδή ο Jung είχε μελετήσει την κριτική φιλοσοφία του Κάντ, την οποία θεωρούσε ότι ήταν η μητέρα της σύγχρονης ψυχολογίας, ήταν ενημερωμένος για την επιστημολογικές επισημάνσεις που είχε διατυπώσει ο Carl Popper και βέβαια λόγω της πνευματικής του ιδιοσυγκρασίας ήταν αποστασιοποιημένος από τον επιστημονισμό-θετικισμό που ελλόχευε στη σκέψη του Φρόϋντ. ΑΡΧΕΤΥΠΑ ΚΑΙ ΕΞΕΛΙΞΗ Ο Φρόυντ, τόσο στο Τοτέμ και Ταμπού, όσο και στο Μωυσής και μονοθεϊσμός, επικαλείται σαφώς την έννοια μιας συλλογικής κληρονομιάς αρχέγονων αναμνήσεων. Έκανε λόγο για μεταφορά αρχετυπικών εμπειριών και τραυμάτων μέσω του ασυνειδήτου του ανθρώπινου είδους. Η ίδια ιδέα των κληρονομικών ή φυλετικών αρχέτυπων αναμνήσεων, υπονοείται στην μεταψυχολογία του Πέραν της αρχής της ηδονής, όπου μιλάει για τον Οιδίποδα, για το μύθο του φόνου στην πρωτόγονη ορδή, προβαίνει στην αναλυτική διάκριση της ψυχικής δομής σε Υπερ-Εγώ Εγώ και Αυτό, διερευνά την αντινομική φύση των θεμελιωδών ενορμήσεων του Έρωτα και του Θανάτου, με άλλα λόγια είχε δεχτεί δηλαδή τα ένστικτα ως ουσιαστικά αρχέτυπα. Αλλά οι αναγωγιστικές του υποθέσεις και ο επιστημονισμός-θετικισμός που διαπερνούσε το έργο του, περιόρισαν δραστικά την έρευνα των αρχετύπων και του συλλογικού ασυνειδήτου. Άλλωστε, όπως ο ίδιος ο Φρόυντ αναγνώριζε, επρόκειτο για μυθολογικές κατασκευές, για δραματουργικές μεταφορές και εικονιστικές αλληγορίες, εξίσου ζωτικές για την κατανόηση του ανθρώπινου δράματος όσο και η αγνωστικιστική-επιστημονική κοσμοθεωρία του. Η ιδέα, λοιπόν, του συλλογικού ασυνειδήτου, όπου το ψυχικό υλικό και οι αρχέτυπες εικόνες, όπως τα όνειρα, οι αναμνήσεις, οι σπερματικές εικόνες, ενσωματώνονται και μεταφέρονται από γενιά σε γενιά διαμέσου των χιλιετιών είναι γνώρισμα που χαρακτηρίζει τόσο τη σκέψη του Φρόυντ όσο και του Jung. Η διαφορά έγκειται στο γεγονός ότι η φροϋδική ψυχανάλυση σκόπευε να απαλλάξει την ανθρώπινη ψυχή από την παιδικότητα των μεταφυσικών δοξασιών, αντίθετα η ψυχολογία του Jung αντλούσε στοιχεία από τη θρησκευτική εμπειρία για πολλές από τις βασικές της κατηγορίες και έβλεπε τη θρησκεία ως αναγκαίο εξελικτικό παράγοντα στην ιστορία και στην υγεία της ανθρώπινης ψυχής. Έτσι, η σύγκρουση Φρόυντ και Jung, πέραν από τις διαφορετικότητα των ιδιοσυγκρασιών, μπορούμε να πούμε ότι ήταν μια επιστημολογική διαμάχη ανάμεσα στον αγνωστικισμό και την υπερβατική πίστη, σ΄ένα βαθύτερο επίπεδο μια μονομαχία ανάμεσα σε μια νέα μυθολογία, υποκατάστατο πίστης και σε μυθολογικό σύστημα που ήθελε να επαναφέρει τους αρχαίους θεούς. Ο Φρόυντ επιχείρησε να ξορκίσει τους πανάρχαιους μύθους του ανορθολογισμού και της πίστης στο υπερφυσικό και ο Jung επιχείρησε να αποκαταστήσει την παλιά λατρεία και τον ιερό μύθο, την ‘’ομορφιά και τον σκοπό της αρχαίας θρησκείας’’, όπως υποστήριζε ο ίδιος. Ο Φρόυντ γνήσιο τέκνο του ουμανιστικού ανθρωπισμού πίστευε στο διαφωτισμό του Λόγου και της επιστήμης, παρά το γεγονός ότι θεωρούσε ότι και αυτή η συμβολική μορφή συνιστά εκλογίκευση και εξειδανίκευση, αλλά επέμενε ότι ήταν η μόνη συμβολική μορφή η οποία αυτοελέγχεται και αυτοδιορθώνεται, δηλαδή δεν είναι δογματικό και αυταρχικό γνωστικό σύστημα. Ο Jung, από την άλλη πλευρά, διαβλέπει το υπαρξιακό κενό που επιφέρει η απομάγευση του τεχνικο-επιστημονικού κόσμου στη σύγχρονη ψυχή και πασχίζει να διασώσει τη μαγεία, επαναφέροντας τη μεταφυσικό στοιχείο και τη θρησκευτική ιερότητα της ζωής, όπως αυτή εκφραζόταν στους αρχαίους μύθους. Όλοι οι παραπάνω λόγοι, μεταφυσικοί, ψυχολογικοί, κοινωνιολογικοί και βιογραφικοί, οι οποίοι διαφοροποιούν τον Φρόυντ από τον Jung, μπορούν να συνοψιστούν στη διαφορετική αντίληψη όσον αφορά τον χρόνο. Ο Φρόυντ είχε, κυρίως, μια γραμμική θεώρηση του χρόνου, αναγνώριζε και αποδεχόταν την οριστική και αμετάκλητη θνητότητα του ανθρώπου και το πεπερασμένο των δυνατοτήτων του και πάσχιζε να τον συμφιλιώσει με την αναπόφευκτη εντροπία της δημιουργίας, η οποία θα επαναφέρει τον άνθρωπο στη φυσική κατάσταση της ανόργανης ύλης. Σ΄αυτή την κατάσταση, τη φυσική κατάσταση της ανόργανης ύλης, θα συναντήσει ξανά τη γαλήνη και την ανάπαυση, αυτό το ον, που όσο ζει, δεν εξισορροπεί τη σχέση του με το περιβάλλον, βρίσκεται σε μια κατάσταση μη-ισορροπίας, ασυμμετρίας, κατάσταση που δημιουργεί την επίγνωση του χρόνου, του εγώ-εαυτού και του επικείμενου θανάτου. Το βέλος του χρόνου καθορίζεται από την αυξανόμενη εντροπία, δηλαδή από την κατεύθυνση που αυθόρμητα ακολουθεί ένα σύστημα προσπαθώντας να ισορροπήσει. Το γεγονός ότι ο άνθρωπος νοιώθει ‘’αταίριαστος’’, σε σχέση με το περιβάλλον του, αποτελεί από τη μια το ελατήριο της εξέλιξης και της δημιουργικής αλλαγής του, αλλά από την άλλη βιώνει άφατο πόνο και διχασμούς οδυνηρούς. Ο Jung, είχε, κυρίως, μια κυκλική θεώρηση του χρόνου, είχε ως όραμά του την Ονειρική εποχή των αρχαϊκών εποχών, όπου η φυσική αντιστοιχία του ανθρώπου με τους κύκλους της ζωής – ενσωματωμένη μέσα στη βαθιά ριζωμένη πίστη της μετενσάρκωσης και της ανάστασης-αναγέννησης- καθησύχαζε και κατεύναζε το φόβο του θανάτου. Ο υποσυνείδητος φόβος του θανάτου, αναιρείτο από την αναζωογονητική υπόσχεση του κυκλικού χρόνου, σ΄αυτή την προ-προσωπική κατάσταση του όντος, σύμφωνα με την αφήγηση του Jung, το πλάσμα εκείνο ταίριαζε με το περιβάλλον του και δεν είχε κανένα λόγο να αλλάξει, βρισκόταν σε μια άχρονη κατάσταση ύπαρξης. Εξελικτική ιστορία ή αδιαφοροποίητη επανάληψη του Ίδιου αρχετυπικού κοσμικού προτύπου; Χρόνος ή Άχρονο, Ύλη ή Πνεύμα, Πολιτισμός ή Φύση, αυτές είναι μερικές από τις διαφοροποιήσεις ή και αντιθέσεις που αντιπαραθέτουν τη Φρουδική επιστημολογία με τη Γιουγκιανή και βέβαια ταλαιπωρούν συνολικά τη μεταφυσική, δηλαδή, τη φιλοσοφική ιστορία. Αν δεχτούμε την κυκλική περιστροφή των αρχετυπικών δομών, τότε αποδεχόμαστε τη μεταφυσική της αναγκαιότητας ενός αυτόνομου μοτίβου που επαναλαβάνεται αέναα και δεν γνωρίζει διαφοροποίηση, δηλαδή αποδεχόμαστε μια μεταφυσική της ουσίας ή αλλιώς μια πάγια και αμετάβλητη ανθρώπινη φύση. Αυτό συνδηλώνει μια οντολογία του άχρονου και αιώνιου κόσμου που επαναλαβάνεται αέναα. Από την άλλη, αν δεχτούμε τη γραμμική αντίληψη της εξελικτικής ιστορίας της φύσης, αναγνωρίζουμε συνεχείς διαφοροποιήσεις και αλλαγές που δεν έχουν σχέση με κληρονομημένες διαχρονικές μορφές και μοτίβα συμπεριφοράς της ανθρώπινης εμπειρίας, αυτό σημαίνει ότι αποδεχόμαστε το αέναο γίγνεσθαι της δημιουργίας. Από τη μια η δομή που επαναλαμβάνεται και από την άλλη μια δομή, ανοιχτή και σε διαδικασία δόμησης. Θα λέγαμε ότι οι αρχετυπικές δομές των αμετάβλητων στοιχείων και η εξελικτική φυσική ιστορία των μεταβλητών, συνυπάρχουν, συν-διαμορφώνονται και συν-μεταβάλλονται. Τα αρχέτυπα ως καλούπι μορφοποιούν τις εμπειρίες που μεταβάλλονται και οι εμπειρίες μορφοποιούν το καλούπι που μεταβάλλεται –δίχως καλούπι και εμπειρίες να ταυτίζονται ή να διακρίνονται-, σαν ένα κύκλωμα ανάδρασης που μεταβολίζει τα αντίθετα, τα αναιρεί και τα εγγράφει στον σφαιρικό χωροχρόνο που μεταμορφώνεται απροσδιόριστα. Ανατρέχοντας πέραν των διακρίσεων, διασχίζοντάς τες, έχουμε να σκεφτούμε το αινιγματικό κέντρο από όπου προέρχονται οι μεταγενέστερες διαφοροποιήσεις και αντιθέσεις, οι οποίες ενέχουν αυτό το κέντρο άσχετα αν το αγνοούν. Το μετέωρο αυτό κέντρο – το διαρθωμένο και εν κινήσει σύνολο – δεν δρά σαν αιτία, πραγματική, μεταφυσική ή μεταφορική, αλλά αυτό το κέντρο, παρόν-απόν, ένα και διαφοροποιημένο μαζί, γνωρίζει πολλαπλές μεταμορφώσεις, χωρίς να μπορούμε να πούμε ποιά διάσταση προηγείται και ποιά έπεται. Οι άνθρωποι, που δεν είναι άνθρωποι, αλλά ερευνητές και πειραματιστές ή καλύτερα διαβάτες που οδοιπορούν, δίχως να γνωρίζουν προς ποιά ακριβώς κατεύθυνση στοχεύει η πορεία τους και γιατί, ήδη βρίσκονται σε διαδικασία ανάληψης και ξεπεράσματος, μετατοπισμένοι σ΄έναν τόπο, μη τοπολογικό και σ΄έναν χρόνο, μη χρονολογικό, στον Κόσμο, όχι τον φυσικοεπιστημονικό, τον Κόσμο, ως Εν-Παν, ως Παν-Τίποτα.

N'est-ce pas dire, avec des mots sortis du fond des tripes, qu'il a découvert que la vie n'est qu'un jeu qui se joue de toute conscience qui s'illusionne "être", mais qu'il a pourtant décidé d'adhérer à ce jeu, parce que s'en détacher, ce serait retomber sous le charme d'une nouvelle illusion, l'illusion de se croire "être" celui qui aurait percé le jeu à jour, alors qu'y adhérer, tout en le perçant à jour, c'est enfin être vivant? Incandescence Nietzsche a mis dans sa recherche une intensité hors du commun. Et une honnêteté totale aussi. Lorsqu'on apporte une telle intensité et une telle honnêteté, on amène nécessairement son propre être à son point d'incandescence. Ce point d'incandescence, c'est la porte du néant. Mais selon que l'on s'agrippe alors à soi ou que l'on s'abandonne à ce qui vient, on bascule dans la lumière de l'éveil ou dans l'angoisse de sa propre solitude. Nietzsche a fait face au néant, mais autant que j'en aie compris, il ne s'est pas abandonné; il a au contraire adopté la position héroïque de celui qui tient bon, qui fait face et campe sur sa propre force. Cette position met en jeu des force intérieures considérables, qui donnent une clarté puissante à la conscience, mais qui oblige du même coup celle-ci à se supporter elle-même, à bouts de bras, sans possibilité de lâcher, sous peine de s'écrouler. Cette intensité reposant entièrement sur soi donne un sentiment de vertige, et si on insiste dans cette voie, on peut vraiment avoir l'impression de devenir fou. Car on se retrouve écartelé entre deux choix également impossibles: la surenchère infinie de sa propre puissance et l'anéantissement. Il me semble que Nietzsche a été extrêmement loin dans cette voie, jusqu'à ce que le fil casse. Dans ce sens – je le répète, ce n'est là que ma compréhension des choses – je partage l'avis de Jean-Marie et mushotoku-nad, en disant que Nietzsche n'aurait pas connu l'éveil tel qu'on l'entend ici. Eternel retour Lorsqu’on vit un moment d’une totale intensité, on sent bien qu’on touche l’essence de l’être. A partir d’une certaine intensité, on débouche sur quelque chose de substantiel, quelque chose qui EST, et donc qui nécessairement dépasse le petit moi. Simplement, dans un cas comme celui-ci, on reste convaincu qu’il s’agit d’un état d’exception. On a touché l’éveil, la réalité de l’être, mais on n’y est pas entré. Y entrer, c’est réaliser que ce moment que l’on vit comme un état d’exception a en fait toujours été là, que ce n’est véritablement pas un moment d’exception, mais notre vraie nature, la nature de ce qui EST, et que l’état d’exception c’est celui d’en être séparé parce qu’on s’identifie à une illusion. Tant qu’on n’a pas réalisé cela, on croira nécessairement que les seuls instants vrais de notre vie sont ces instants d’exception durant lesquels on communie à l’être, et que tout le reste est sans valeur. C’est dans ce sens que je comprends la théorie de l’éternel retour de Nietzsche, qui pour moi a toujours eu un caractère angoissant. Revivre éternellement le retour du même. Ou plus précisément, car c’est cela qu’entendait Nietzsche, revivre éternellement le retour de ces moments d’exception, ces seuls moments réels. Car du moment qu’on pense qu’eux seuls sont réels, qu’eux seuls sont enracinés dans l’être éternel, l’évidence s’impose que d’une part ils ne sauraient disparaître, et que d’autre part tout le reste ne saurait avoir d'existence réelle. Et donc que l'éternité est faite de ces moments d'exceptions, qu'elle est faite de l'éternel retour de ceux-ci.

«La vérité éternelle essentielle n’est pas du tout en elle-même paradoxale, mais elle n’est telle que dans son rapport avec un sujet existant. Expliquer le paradoxe signifierait alors saisir toujours plus profondément ce qu’est un paradoxe et que le paradoxe est le paradoxe. Ainsi Dieu est une représentation suprême qu’on ne peut expliquer par quelque chose d’autre, mais seulement par le fait qu’on s’approfondit soi-même dans cette représentation. Objectivement, on accentue ce qui est dit; subjectivement, comment c’est dit. Une telle définition de la vérité est la suivante: l’incertitude objective appropriée fermement par l’intériorité la plus passionnée, voilà la vérité, la plus haute vérité qu’il y ait pour un sujet existant. Là où le chemin bifurque (où, on ne peut le dire objectivement, car c’est justement la subjectivité) le savoir objectif est suspendu. Objectivement on n’a donc que de l’incertitude, mais c’est justement par là que se tend la passion infinie de l’intériorité, et la vérité consiste précisément dans ce coup d’audace qui choisit l’incertitude objective avec la passion de l’infini.» Ce que décrit Kierkegaard, n’est-ce pas philosopher et vraiment vivre, porter la tension jusqu’au point où on abandonne toute philosophie, où on prend le risque de sauter dans le vide, de transgresser l’ordre rassurant, n'étant plus porté que par la foi en l’infini (il ajoute plus loin: “Mais la définition ainsi donnée de la vérité est une transcription de celle de la foi. Sans risque, pas de foi.”)? Pour ma part, je le comprend ainsi: la connaissance qui s'applique à un objet extérieur ne pourra jamais concerner que cet objet, et en aucun cas le sujet. Elle restera donc toujours une vérité partielle, inscrite dans la dualité sujet-objet. Pour qu'elle devienne vérité la plus haute, "vérité éternelle essentielle", comme l'appelle Kierkegaard, il faut que l'esprit connaissant demeure dans l'incertitude quant à l'objet de sa connaissance (qui en l'occurence ne peut être que Dieu), qu'il accepte donc de ne pas le saisir, mais qu'il s'approprie avec toute l'énergie possible de sa passion l'incertitude même qu'il ressent face à Lui. Lorsque le sujet demeure ainsi dans un état d’incertitude tout en saisissant sa propre incertitude avec toute l’énergie possible, il se trouve intensément présent, dans un état de pure présence qui lui confère une consistance qui est celle même de l’objet. Dans la dualité sujet-objet, l'objet est consistant, et le sujet inconsistant, raison pour laquelle le sujet a toujours besoin de s'appuyer sur l'objet. En effet, les seules choses consistantes dans ma conscience de sujet, ce sont les objets du monde, ma conscience elle-même demeurant résolument inconsistante. Mais si elle parvient à rester intensément présente face à l’objet sans rien vouloir d’autre qu’approfondir cette présence, elle acquiert alors la consistance propre à l'objet, elle se fond en lui, et se trouve ainsi propulsée hors de la dualité sujet-objet, dans la vérité éternelle essentielle. Accepter de ne pas saisir la vérité, accepter de demeurer dans le brouillard, dans l’incertitude; mais le faire non pas passivement, mais avec toute la passion dont on est capable. Alors on devient intensément présent, tout en s'oubliant à la fois. C'est cela, l'éveil.

We live in a universe that can be seen and experienced from many different perspectives. We therefore need to look at the universe from many different angles. Everything and everyone is a form of the universe being expressed in a particular way. In other words, each one of us can say with absolute certainly “We are the Universe!” Since we are the universe, each one of us provides a valuable perspective that complements the contributions of everyone and everything else around us. Each of us is the universe being expressed in a particular location in a specific way. We’re all part of the same moving and evolving cosmos, but the view of it is unique from each of our respective locations. This suggests that the universe is not only omnicentric, but that it is also multiperspectival – there are many different, and equally valid, viewpoints on this. Each one of us is a cosmic laboratory within which we can discover the secrets of the universe. We speak in various ways, we are each the universe having become aware of itself in our own unique way. The insights that the universe has many different perspectives and is both cosmic and personal has great transformative potential, and is worth reflecting on deeply.

Wir sind zu einem Fluch für das Leben auf diesem Planeten geworden; Wir haben die Welt zu einem Spielzeugladen gemacht, in dem wir die leistungsstarken Spielzeuge bauen, die unseren wahrgenommenen Interessen dienen. Wir spielen mit unseren Spielsachen unabhängig davon, ob sie wirklich unseren Bedürfnissen dienen, und ohne Rücksicht auf die Bedürfnisse anderer. Wir setzen die Energie des Atoms frei und nutzen sie, um Systeme anzutreiben, die unsere Bedürfnisse befriedigen. Wir leiten Elektronenströme in integrierte Schaltkreise und verwenden die Schaltkreise, um die Technologien zu beherrschen, die unseren Anforderungen an Kommunikation und Information dienen. Wir spielen im globalen Spielzeugladen ohne Rücksicht auf die Folgen für andere und für den gesamten Laden. Dies ist ein kurzsichtiges und gefährliches Verhalten. Wir greifen auf Energie auf eine Weise zu, die nicht unseren wirklichen Bedürfnissen dient, sondern nur unseren kurzfristigen, egozentrischen Bedürfnissen. Ähnlich kurzsichtig manipulieren wir Informationen. Beispiele dafür sind die Atombombe und das Atomkraftwerk auf der einen Seite und der Computer mit seinem Netzwerk aus globalem Geschwätz auf der anderen Seite. Atomkraft, selbst für friedliche Zwecke, und künstliche Intelligenz, selbst wenn sie gut gemeint ist, sind gefährliche Spielzeuge. Sie können zu technologischen Überschreitungen werden, die am Ende unser Leben und das gesamte Lebensnetz in der Biosphäre schädigen. Wir sind an sich gut, aber egozentrisch und kurzsichtig. Aber das kann nicht unwidersprochen bleiben. Die Zeit, in der wir naiv mit mächtigen Spielzeugen spielen konnten, ist vorbei. Ihre unvorhergesehenen „Nebenwirkungen“ sind zu einer Bedrohung für alles Leben auf dem Planeten geworden, einschließlich unseres eigenen. Vorwärts gehen. Wir sind an der Schwelle des vierten Urknalls angekommen. Was machen wir jetzt? Wenn wir gedeihen oder auch nur überleben wollen, muss sich unser Bewusstsein ändern. Gelingt dies nicht, wird der nächste Urknall unser letzter sein. Eine globale Transformation ist ein riskanter Prozess: Soll sie nicht zum Zusammenbruch, sondern zum Durchbruch führen, muss sie gesteuert werden. Wir können mit der bewussten Führung unserer Evolution beginnen, indem wir Gandhis Rat folgen: Sag anderen nicht, was sie tun sollen; Werde du selbst zu dem, was sie und die Welt werden sollen. Unsere wesentliche Aufgabe ist es, die Transformation der Welt zu werden. Wir müssen Ausdruck eines reifen und gesunden Lebens in der Biosphäre sein. Wenn diese kritische Masse erreicht wird, wird der „vierte Urknall“ nicht das Ende des Lebens auf dem Planeten markieren. Es wird eine disruptive globale Transformation sein, aber keine destruktive. Es wird eine neue Phase in der Amtszeit der Menschheit auf dem Planeten auslösen und nicht das Ende dieser Amtszeit. Es ist an der Zeit, die Lehren aus der Geschichte zu ziehen – zurückzublicken, um nach vorne zu sehen. Das Überleben einer fortgeschrittenen Spezies und die Zukunft des Lebensnetzes auf diesem Planeten liegt in unseren Händen. Noch nie waren so viele von der Weisheit so weniger abhängig. Wir müssen erwachen – um erwachsen zu werden. Die Kraft des Bewusstseins zu nutzen, die in unseren Händen liegt. Es ist nicht an der Zeit zu fragen, ob wir den vierten Urknall, die bereits begonnene globale Transformation, überstehen werden. Es ist an der Zeit, sich daran zu machen, es zu schaffen.
