64Józef M. Bocheński and the Cracow CircleStudies in East European Thought 65 (1-2): 5-15. 2013.Józef M. Bocheński began his philosophical career as an eclectic philosopher, then switched to Thomism and finally became a representative of the analytic school. As a Thomist he wanted to reform this orientation by the resources of modern formal logic. This tendency culminated in the establishment of the Cracow Circle (established in 1936) whose members were Bocheński, Jan F. Drewnowski, Jan Salamucha, and Bolesław Sobociński. However, the program of the Cracow Circle was rejected by most Thomi…Read more

4Ewangelizacja bez perspektywEtyka 28 129-133. 1995.Jan Woleński criticizes the ideology and politics of the catholic church. He thinks that Polish Catholicism turns out to be ideologically expansive, dogmatic, orthodox and arrogant. Unfortunately it is not open to non conventional streams, treating them as dangerous heresies. The so called new evangelization is nothing but the expression of the old catholic ideological expansionism.

10Ajdukiewicz on analyticityStudies in East European Thought 68 (1): 5-10. 2016.This paper presents the development of Ajdukiewicz’s conception of analytic sentences. Starting from his pre-war radical conventionalism, the presentation proceeds to Ajdukiewicz’s moderate aposteriorism and, finally, to radical aposteriorism. Various accounts of analyticity by Ajdukiewicz are mentioned and briefly commented on. At the end of the paper, Ajdukiewicz’s influence on Polish philosophy in regard to the issue of analyticity is pointed out.

7Analityczność i metamatematykaActa Universitatis Lodziensis. Folia Philosophica. Ethica-Aesthetica-Practica 9 125-131. 1993.Chociaż rozróżnienie sądów analitycznych i syntetycznych pojawiło się po raz pierwszy u Kanta, to pokrewne pojęcia można odnaleźć już u Hume’a i Leibniza. Autor zestawia i analizuje różne definicje i charakterystyki pojęcia analityczności, jakie proponowali m. in.: Kant, pozytywiści, Frege, Carnap, Strawson i Quine. Wskazuje się, że w badaniach nad zagadnieniem analityczności często odwoływano się do takich pojęć metalogicznych, jak: prawdziwość, niesprzeczność czy dowiedlność, a te z kolei zost…Read more
