Marriage Transmitted Debt in the Chinese Civil Code: The Beginning of a Solution Rather than the End
    with May Fong Cheong
    Feminist Legal Studies 30 (1): 1-27. 2021.
This paper is the first to critically analyse how the newly enacted Chinese Civil Code addresses gender equality in the intersection of family and commercial contracting. It proposes ‘marriage transmitted debt’ (MTD) in China as a new concept as opposed to ‘sexually transmitted debt’ (STD) documented in English and Australian jurisprudence. MTD refers to the debt incurred by one spouse but transmitted to the other spouse due to the status of the marriage. Supported by empirical statistics, it sh…Read more

Disrupted Brain Structural Network Connection in de novo Parkinson's Disease With Rapid Eye Movement Sleep Behavior Disorder
with Amei Chen, Yuting Li, Zhaoxiu Wang, Xiuhang Ruan, Xiaofang Cheng, Xiaofei Huang, Dan Liang, Dandan Chen, and Xinhua Wei
Frontiers in Human Neuroscience 16. 2022.
ObjectiveTo explore alterations in white matter network topology in de novo Parkinson's disease patients with rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorder.Materials and MethodsThis study included 171 de novo PD patients and 73 healthy controls recruited from the Parkinson's Progression Markers Initiative database. The patients were divided into two groups, PD with probable RBD and PD without probable RBD, according to the RBD screening questionnaire. Individual structural network of brain was cons…Read more

Identify and Assess Hydropower Project’s Multidimensional Social Impacts with Rough Set and Projection Pursuit Model
with Hui An, Wenjing Yang, Ai Huang, Zhongchi Wan, and Min An
    Complexity 2020 1-16. 2020.
To realize the coordinated and sustainable development of hydropower projects and regional society, comprehensively evaluating hydropower projects’ influence is critical. Usually, hydropower project development has an impact on environmental geology and social and regional cultural development. Based on comprehensive consideration of complicated geological conditions, fragile ecological environment, resettlement of reservoir area, and other factors of future hydropower development in each countr…Read more

A semantic approach for knowledge capture of microRNA-target gene interactions
with Fernando Gutierrez, Dejing Dou, Judith A. Blake, Karen Eilbeck, Darren A. Natale, Barry Smith, Yu Lin, Xiaowei Wang, and Zixing Liu
In Jingshan Huang, Fernando Gutierrez, Dejing Dou, Judith A. Blake, Karen Eilbeck, Darren A. Natale, Barry Smith, Yu Lin, Xiaowei Wang & Zixing Liu (eds.), IEEE International Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedicine (IEEE BIBM 2015),, . pp. 975-982. 2015.
Research has indicated that microRNAs (miRNAs), a special class of non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs), can perform important roles in different biological and pathological processes. miRNAs’ functions are realized by regulating their respective target genes (targets). It is thus critical to identify and analyze miRNA-target interactions for a better understanding and delineation of miRNAs’ functions. However, conventional knowledge discovery and acquisition methods have many limitations. Fortunately, sema…Read more

A domain ontology for the non-coding RNA field
with Karen Eilbeck, Judith A. Blake, Dejing Dou, Darren A. Natale, Alan Ruttenberg, Barry Smith, Michael T. Zimmermann, Guoqian Jiang, and Yu Lin
In Huang Jingshan, Eilbeck Karen, Blake Judith A., Dou Dejing, Natale Darren A., Ruttenberg Alan, Smith Barry, Zimmermann Michael T., Jiang Guoqian & Lin Yu (eds.), IEEE International Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedicine (IEEE BIBM 2015), . pp. 621-624. 2015.
Identification of non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) has been significantly enhanced due to the rapid advancement in sequencing technologies. On the other hand, semantic annotation of ncRNA data lag behind their identification, and there is a great need to effectively integrate discovery from relevant communities. To this end, the Non-Coding RNA Ontology (NCRO) is being developed to provide a precisely defined ncRNA controlled vocabulary, which can fill a specific and highly needed niche in unification o…Read more
