This paper addresses the issue of existential crises from a philosophical and social perspective, focusing on the tension between subjectivity and objectivity. It explores the existential singularities that shape each individual, conditioned by factors such as illness, freedom, gender, migration, or social class. The analysis also highlights how capitalism, understood as a system that commodifies life and fosters alienation, intensifies these crises and restricts the possibility of authentic existence. Finally, the paper argues for a more communal, egalitarian, and free way of life as a path to alleviate—though not completely eliminate—the inherent anguish of human existence

This paper provides a critical synthesis of Nancy Fraser’s and Judith Butler’s approaches to the relationship between Marxism and feminism. By analyzing their perspectives, it explores how each thinker addresses issues of oppression, gender, and recognition, contrasting them with the Marxist framework of class struggle. The study argues that Fraser can be located within a revisionist Marxist perspective, influenced by social democracy and Eurocommunism, while Butler represents a postmodern approach shaped by queer theory. The paper highlights both convergences and divergences between the two authors, emphasizing the limitations of their proposals when compared to the materialist conception of Marxism. Ultimately, it contends that class struggle remains essential for understanding multiple forms of oppression and inequality in contemporary societies.
