ObjectiveThe aim of our study was to investigate abnormal changes in brain activity in patients with persistent postural-perceptual dizziness using magnetoencephalography.MethodsMagnetoencephalography recordings from 18 PPPD patients and 18 healthy controls were analyzed to determine the source of brain activity in seven frequency ranges using accumulated source imaging.ResultsOur study showed that significant changes in the patterns of localization in the temporal-parietal junction were observed at 1–4, 4–8, and 12–30 Hz in PPPD patients compared with healthy controls, and changes in the frontal cortex were found at 1–4, 80–250, and 250–500 Hz in PPPD patients compared with controls. The neuromagnetic activity in TPJ was observed increased significantly in 1–4 and 4–8 Hz, while the neuromagnetic activity in frontal cortex was found increased significantly in 1–4 Hz. In addition, the localized source strength in TPJ in 1–4 Hz was positively correlated with DHI score, while the localized source strength in frontal cortex in 1–4 Hz was positively correlated with HAMA score.ConclusionOur results demonstrated that alterations in the TPJ and frontal cortex may play a critical role in the pathophysiological mechanism of PPPD. The neuromagnetic activity in TPJ may be related to dizziness symptom of PPPD patients, while the neuromagnetic activity in frontal lobe may be related to emotional symptoms of PPPD patients. In addition, frequency-dependent changes in neuromagnetic activity, especially neuromagnetic activity in low frequency bands, were involved in the pathophysiology of PPPD.

Workplace incivility remains a prevailing issue and has significant potential for harmful consequences. This study aims to investigate the influencing mechanism of workplace incivility on work alienation from the perspective of targets. Based on the social exchange theory, our research examines the role of interpersonal trust as a mediator along with the moderator of career resilience in the said association. Through a two-wave-time-lagged quantitative research design, a sample of 315 nurses from China was investigated with questionnaires on workplace incivility, work alienation, interpersonal trust, and career resilience. The results indicated that workplace incivility was positively related to work alienation with interpersonal trust as a mediator. Workplace incivility caused a decline in interpersonal trust, which led to work alienation. Career resilience buffered such an impact. High career resilience weakened the association linking workplace incivility to interpersonal trust. Organizations should pay more attention to workplace incivility and consider empowering nurses’ career resilience, which could alleviate the negative impact of workplace incivility.

ObjectiveBasic combat training is a kind of necessary high-intensity training to help each military recruit convert into a qualified soldier. In China, both the physical fatigue and passive psychological state have been observed in new recruits during BCT. However, after same-intensity training, the degree of fatigue and passive mood vary among recruits. Therefore, this study aimed to explore the effect of BCT on mood state of recruits with different physical fitness levels from a perspective of fatigue.Materials and methodsBefore and after BCT, the degree of fatigue and mood state of participants were evaluated via the Borg Rating of Perceived Exertion Scale and Profile of Mood States Questionnaire immediately after 20 push-ups as RPE and POMS scores [total mood disturbance, passive mood and positive mood ]. The participants were divided into two groups according to the RPE score measured after BCT: group 1: RPE score after BCT < 13 and group 2: RPE score after BCT ≥ 13.ResultA total of 564 recruits were included. After BCT, in group 1, TMD and passive mood Ttension, Tfatigue, Tdepression, Tconfusion declined significantly, but positive mood both increased significantly ; while in group 2, only Tanger and Testeem increased significantly.ConclusionBCT could alleviate passive mood and add to positive mood for recruits with better physical fitness, while had no ameliorative effects on or even deteriorate most of the passive mood for recruits with worse physical fitness.

Organizations are increasingly required to achieve sustainable performance that integrates long-term growth with environmental and social responsibility. Although strategic management quality is widely viewed as essential, the mechanism through which it shapes sustainable outcomes remains unclear. A cross-sectional survey was conducted with 468 middle- and senior-level managers from multiple industries in China. Strategic management quality, decision quality, and sustainable performance were measured using validated scales. Data were analyzed using SPSS and Hayes’ PROCESS macro (Model 4) with 5,000 bootstrap samples. Strategic management quality was positively associated with both decision quality and sustainable performance. Decision quality was strongly related to sustainable performance and partially mediated the effect of strategic management quality. The indirect effect was significant. Strategic management enhances sustainability primarily by improving how organizations make decisions. Decision quality serves as a micro-level mechanism translating strategy into durable performance.

Short-form videos are popular worldwide as a thriving form of entertainment. Its fragmentation pattern, which presents users with intensive and engaging information, might lead to addiction and adverse effects. This study aims to investigate the effect of addiction to short-form videos on users’ attention, including attention while watching videos and the ability of attentional concentration after watching time. Users addicted or non-addicted to short-form videos were screened to participate in a short-form video watching task and a Stroop task based on eye-tracking technology. The results showed that addicted users reported less interest, centration, and more distractions and exhibited more fixation counts and shorter average fixation duration during watching short-form videos than non-addicted users. In the Stroop task, addicted users achieved longer response time and less accuracy and showed longer average fixation duration, more fixation counts, and saccades between the targets and the distractors than non-addicted users. The results suggest that addicted users might suffer more difficulties maintaining attention, have more attention deficits while watching short-form videos, and have impaired attentional concentration for processing interference. The findings contribute to understanding the effect of addiction to short-form videos and provide helpful insight into using it healthily and preventing addiction. ARTICLE HISTORY.

The program directs viewers' attention to the beauty of details that are often overlooked, thus stimulating viewers' thinking and emotional resonance. This paper takes the interpretation of "The Picture of the Displaced People" in the first season of "Partial" as an example, combines the contemporary social background, uses the theory of art aesthetics, and deeply analyzes the embodiment of the aesthetic value level in the art works. Through the analysis of this classic case, it explores how the program, while disseminating artistic knowledge, triggers the audience to think deeply about the relationship between art and society, history and reality, and provides new perspectives and thinking paths for the study of the aesthetic value of art works.

This study investigates the role of intrinsic motivation in enhancing deep learning in early childhood education (ECE), a critical period for cognitive, emotional, and social development. Intrinsic motivation, driven by children’s natural curiosity and desire to explore, is essential for fostering active engagement, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. However, as children progress through their educational journey, intrinsic motivation often diminishes in favor of extrinsic rewards, leading to surface-level learning. This research, grounded in Self-Determination Theory (SDT), examines how meeting children’s psychological needs—autonomy, competence, and relatedness—supports intrinsic motivation in preschool classrooms. Through case studies, this paper highlights various teaching strategies, including inquiry-based learning, emotional support, play-based exploration, and collaborative learning, that promote intrinsic motivation and deepen engagement with academic content. The study’s findings underscore the importance of creating supportive learning environments that nurture intrinsic motivation, contributing to children’s long-term academic success and personal development. Practical recommendations for educators and policymakers are provided, focusing on curriculum design, teacher-student interactions, and fostering autonomy-supportive practices in the classroom. Ultimately, the research emphasizes the crucial role intrinsic motivation plays in creating lasting, meaningful learning experiences, laying the foundation for lifelong learning.

With the advent of the digital era, artificial intelligence and informatization have integrated and converged with various industries, and accounting work is also gradually undergoing digital transformation. Accounting informatization has a profound impact on the financial management of the entire enterprise. The article mainly takes China as the background, introducing the connotation of accounting informatization and the development path of accounting informatization in China. Then it analyzes in detail the impacts of accounting informatization on enterprise financial management. The main impacts are enhancing the transparency of data, improving decision-making capabilities, increasing the efficiency of data processing, and optimizing resource allocation. Meanwhile, it points out the problems that accounting informatization will encounter in its development process, such as the lack of a unified accounting informatization standard system, the imperfection and non-uniformity of the accounting informatization system construction, the low matching degree of accounting informatization talents, data security issues, and shortcomings in data elements. Finally, this article puts forward five countermeasures to address these problems, such as constructing the accounting informatization standard system, comprehensively planning accounting data elements, strengthening the integration of financial data, enhancing data security protection and risk management, and strengthening the construction of the professional team of accounting informatization.

This study explores the impact of AIGC-generated sports content on user sentiment and engagement on Xiaohongshu, a Chinese social media platform.Using MediaCrawler, we collected posts and comments related to sports topics generated by AI. Sentiment analysis was performed using SnowNLP to classify comments as positive or negative, with 57.1% showing positive sentiment and 42.9% negative. Despite the prevalence of positive sentiment, no significant difference in engagement (measured by likes) was observed between positive and negative comments.Temporal analysis revealed that user engagement is event-driven, with spikes in positive sentiment during major sports events. Additionally, word cloud analysis highlighted promotional and spam-like themes, suggesting challenges in content moderation. The interaction patterns showed a skewed distribution, with a small number of highly active users dominating discussions.The findings suggest that timing, relevance, and event alignment are more critical than sentiment polarity in driving engagement.The study provides insights for content creators and platforms on optimizing AIGC strategies through trend alignment and effective user collaboration.

Drawing on China's policy practices under the “dual carbon” goal, this study examines how green procurement (GP), a demand-side policy, and green subsidies (GS), a supply-side policy, jointly affect corporate ESG performance. Using panel data of A-share listed industrial firms from 2015 to 2022 and a two-way fixed effects model, the findings show: (1) the GP–GS policy mix significantly enhances ESG performance through complementary “market-locking” and “resource-matching” effects; (2) mechanism analysis identifies three channels—greater information transparency, stronger market competition, and higher green innovation; and (3) heterogeneity tests reveal stronger impacts among heavily polluting firms and in regions with robust institutional environments. By moving beyond single-policy analyses, this study provides evidence on the synergistic optimization of demand- and supply-side environmental policies and offers micro-level insights to refine China's green governance toolkit and strengthen ESG drivers.

Based on the power basis theory, this study examined the relationship between high-level talents’ perceived overqualification and withdrawal behavior and the mediating role of sense of power. We also analyze the boundary effects of protected values and being trusted. The hypotheses of this study were tested through questionnaires gathered across three phases over 3 months from 371 high-level talents from 6 enterprises, 5 governments, and 13 universities in China. Hierarchical regression analyses and bootstrapping appraisals showed that: POQ has a positive relationship with withdrawal behavior; sense of power mediates the relationship between overqualification and withdrawal behavior, with high POQ resulting in low perceived power, which then reinforces withdrawal behavior; the negative relationship between POQ and sense of power is stronger for high-level talents with high protected value ; the negative relationship between sense of power and withdrawal behavior is stronger for high-level talents with highly being trusted ; moderated-mediation analyses reveal that the mediating effects of sense of power are stronger for employees with high protected values or being trusted. At the end of this study, the theoretical and practical implications are discussed.

Smartphone addiction behaviors are becoming more and more common with the rapid popularity and widespread use of smartphones. Such behaviors are significantly influenced by the overuse of smartphones before bedtime. In this study, the overuse of smartphones after 9:00 pm before bedtime was investigated by an online questionnaire. The sample consists of 1,035 college students in China. The artificial neural networks were applied to predict the use time of smartphones before bedtime based on their different usages, and the relationship between smartphone usage and additive behaviors was analyzed. The results show that the neural network model can more accurately predict the usage time of smartphones according to the usage of smartphones before going to bed. At the same time, it is also found that the prediction accuracy of the samples that use the smartphone for less than half an hour and more than 3 h before bed is higher than that of other samples. Moreover, watching short videos and playing games are more likely to lead to mobile phone addiction behavior. These findings would help guide college students to correctly use phones and reduce smartphone addition, which is of great significance for mental health education.

This paper aims to critique the argument constructed by Anna Smajdor and Joona Räsänen that pregnancy is a disease. Their argument that pregnancy fits the features of disease they enumerate stems from an analysis based on an ontological framework I term the ‘logic of the list’. This framework fails to grasp the essential and pervasive nature of the biological trade-offs that characterise complex phenomena like pregnancy. This paper argues that the generative logic behind many of the negative features of pregnancy differs significantly from that of true pathological processes. They are not signs of pathological dysregulation, but rather the structural costs that a complex adaptive system must pay in its process of reproduction.

Drawing upon the service encounter perspective and attribution theory, this study develops an integrated model linking frontline employees' green behavior with consumer evangelism, incorporating the serial mediating role of consumer positive generalization and satisfaction, as well as the moderating role of consumer attribution. To test our theoretical model, we conducted three experiments and recruited a total of 500 participants. The results reveal a significant positive impact of frontline employee green behavior on consumer evangelism. This effect is mediated by consumer positive generalization and satisfaction. Furthermore, consumer attribution about frontline employee green behavior moderates the serial mediating effect such that the mediating effect is stronger under the condition of substantive attribution (vs. symbolic attribution). This study contributes to the literature on green services and green marketing. Additionally, it offers valuable practical insights for companies looking to build a green reputation and enhance customer loyalty by implementing sustainable practices.

This study investigates how national climate policy instruments interact with financial constraints to shape corporate decarbonization, using data on 12,749 domestic and multinational firms across 51 countries from 2005 to 2022. We show that regulatory enforcement and carbon pricing reduce emissions even when firms face capital scarcity, while targeted subsidies have no measurable effect. The impact of regulation depends on institutional context: ESG disclosure requirements and supportive informal norms such as social trust, individualism, and competitiveness amplify effectiveness, whereas strong shareholder rights or uncertainty-averse cultures substitute for regulation and diminish its marginal role. We also uncover ethical risks in global production. Financially constrained multinationals often reallocate emissions to affiliates in weaker jurisdictions rather than invest in abatement, undermining collective climate goals, while firms subject to stringent regulation gain privileged access to global capital, disadvantaging peers in laxer regimes. By integrating institutional theory with business ethics, our findings show that climate accountability is not only a matter of environmental effectiveness but also of justice and fairness. Well-designed and well-enforced policies, aligned with institutional contexts and coordinated internationally, are essential for ensuring that the burdens and benefits of decarbonization are equitably distributed.

China’s involvement in Chile’s transport sector has prompted both optimism and concern about potential risks that such involvement could bring about. Relying on a mixed-method approach encompassing quantitative and qualitative analyses, this chapter explores Chinese investment dynamics in Chile’s transport sector, evaluating its implications for Chile’s economic growth, as well as Latin America’s and China’s. Attention is paid to the relevance of bilateral political and economic engagements, market policies, infrastructure governance, institutional building, and China’s technological prowess for the lasting success of such investments. The chapter argues that China’s investment in and strategy for the Chilean transport sector have potential to satisfy Chile’s requirements and open avenues for economic growth. Moreover, it contends that Chile’s infrastructure governance and institution building efforts help mitigate concerns surrounding Chinese investments, effectively averting the pitfalls associated with potential sovereignty-related debt distress.

The sampling-based motion planner is the mainstream method to solve the motion planning problem in high-dimensional space. In the process of exploring robot configuration space, this type of algorithm needs to perform collision query on a large number of samples, which greatly limits their planning efficiency. Therefore, this paper uses machine learning methods to establish a probabilistic model of the obstacle region in configuration space by learning a large number of labeled samples. Based on this, the high-dimensional samples’ rapid collision query is realized. The influence of number of Gaussian components on the fitting accuracy is analyzed in detail, and a self-adaptive model training method based on Greedy expectation-maximization algorithm is proposed. At the same time, this method has the capability of online updating and can eliminate model fitting errors due to environmental changes. Finally, the model is combined with a variety of sampling-based motion planners and is validated in multiple sets of simulations and real world experiments. The results show that, compared with traditional methods, the proposed method has significantly improved the planning efficiency.

To clarify the shifting nature and categorization of Academic misconduct in this field and provide a theoretical basis for the development of standards to promote the governance responsibilities of research institutions we collated 8,823 retracted articles from mainland China between 2000 and 2023. We then conducted classified statistics according to research institution types, geographic affiliation, impact factors, JCR categories, and Academic misconduct definitions. Since 2016, the retraction rate has remained high at 0.3%. We found that educational institutions (EIs) have increasingly taken on a leadership role in scientific research, accounting for 83% (_n_ = 7,293) of retracted articles in China. Elite EIs exhibited significantly lower retraction rates than other EIs, with median retraction rates of 0.12% and 0.39% (_P_ = 0.0003). However, the period between publication and retraction was longer for elite EIs than for other EIs with a median of 1.95 and 1.84 years (_P_.

A nonlinear coupled wing model subject to unknown external disturbances is proposed in this paper. Since the model is modeled by partial differential equations, the traditional control design scheme based on the ordinary differential equation model is not applicable, and the control law design becomes very complex. In this paper, a new antidisturbance boundary control scheme based on a finite time convergent disturbance observer is proposed. The control laws are designed based on the new disturbance observers to make the external disturbance errors converge to zero in a finite time and ensure the uniformly bounded stability of the controlled system. Finally, the effectiveness of the controllers and the finite-time convergence of disturbance errors are verified by the simulation and comparison.

Given the significant disparities between provinces and research institutions, as well as the regional differences in the cooperation models of retracted papers, provincial-level authorities should take the lead in further strengthening the governance responsibilities of institutions. The high rate of SD-related Academic misconduct may significantly undermine trust in China’s scientific research.

Marxist semiotics provides a comprehensive and critical framework for understanding and challenging the contemporary information society’s socioeconomic dynamics. By integrating Marxist theory and semiotics, this paper is to examine how commodities function as both material objects and carriers of meaning, and how digital advancements have intensified phenomena, such as alienated labor and symbolic consumption. Secondary data sources, including case studies and theoretical analyses, are utilized to explore real-world contexts that demonstrate the material and symbolic roles of digital commodities. Currency, as a meta-sign, interprets commodity signs and shapes societal values and relationships. The study addresses the information society, where the production, circulation, exchange and consumption of information form a cohesive trinity of media, intelligence and consumption. The fundamental arguments include the transformation of human survival in the digital age and the need for new academic interpretations, which contributes to both policy and theoretical discussions by bridging the gap between economic production and symbolic consumption. The study concludes with recommendations for further research on the socioeconomic implications of digital technologies.

As it is essential to explore the influence of social communications on transportation routes in tourism, this article aims to examine the impacts of social communications on transportation routes in the field of tourism and to further explore the relationship between tourism destinations and their psychological perceptions. In terms of links between different tourism destinations in space and time dimensions, our empirical analysis draws the following conclusions: the behavior of tourist flow is a mediating variable on the links between tourist psychological perceptions and tour routes; three modes of point-line interaction are presented in the space and time of tourism destinations; and the scenic city’s location, name, and features are important to tourists’ psychological perceptions.
