Social cooperation is an important element in education because it supports effective interaction in the learning process. According to Al-Farabi, humans are social being s who need cooperation to achieve a perfect life. This study aims to examine the concept of social cooperation in the learning process based on Al-Farabi's thought and its relevance to education. The method used is library research with descriptive analysis. The results show that the concept of al-Madinah al-Fadhilah emphasizes the importance of mutual assistance and cooperation in achieving common goals. In education, this concept is relevant to collaborative learning, which supports the development of students' character and social skills.

Education plays a vital role in developing human potential comprehensively, encompassing both physical and spiritual dimensions. However, contemporary educational practice tends to privilege cognitive and academic achievement, often at the expense of students’ physical, moral, and spiritual growth. Although a growing body of research has examined Al-Farabi’s educational philosophy, most studies address his thought in general terms and have not specifically analyzed how physical–spiritual balance is articulated within his conception of educational aims. This study addresses that gap by analyzing the concept of physical and spiritual balance (jasmani–rohani) within Al-Farabi’s philosophy of educational objectives and its relevance for contemporary education. Using a qualitative descriptive approach through library research, primary and secondary sources on Al-Farabi’s educational philosophy were analyzed using content analysis. The findings show that Al-Farabi conceived education as a path toward happiness (al-sa’adah), attained through the harmonious cultivation of all human faculties. Physical balance is realized through bodily health and the cultivation of practical skills, while spiritual balance is cultivated through moral formation, intellectual development, and the strengthening of spiritual values, oriented toward the formation of the virtuous human being (al-insan al-kamil) within the framework of the virtuous city (al-madinah al-fadilah). These findings resonate strongly with contemporary educational goals that emphasize the holistic development of learners. Al-Farabi’s thought therefore offers a philosophical foundation for building a more holistic, humanistic, and character-oriented education system, one capable of responding to the erosion of moral character and student mental health documented in current Indonesian education discourse.

This study is motivated by the growing phenomenon of moral crisis among students and university students in the modern era. This condition requires an educational concept that focuses not only on intellectual development but also on character and moral formation. The study aims to examine the relevance of the educational concept of Ikhwan as-Shafa to the character development of contemporary university students. This research employs a library research method by reviewing various literature related to the educational thought of Ikhwan as-Shafa and character education. The findings reveal that the educational concept of Ikhwan as-Shafa remains highly relevant to character formation, particularly through its emphasis on the integration of knowledge, moral cultivation, spiritual development, and the balance between intellectual and ethical dimensions. These principles can serve as a foundation for educators in addressing moral disruption and ethical challenges in the modern era. Therefore, the educational values of Ikhwan as-Shafa offer a potential alternative framework for nurturing knowledgeable, responsible, and morally grounded generations.

In the era of globalization and digital transformation, educational systems are expected not only to develop intellectual competence but also to cultivate moral values and social responsibility. Ibn Khaldun's educational thought, as presented in Al-Muqaddimah, offers a comprehensive perspective on the relationship between education and the progress of civilization. This study aims to critically examine Ibn Khaldun's educational philosophy and analyze its relevance to contemporary educational development. This research employed a qualitative approach using library research. The primary data source was Al-Muqaddimah, while secondary data were collected from scholarly journals, books, and other relevant academic publications. Data were gathered through documentation techniques and analyzed using qualitative content analysis. The findings indicate that Ibn Khaldun viewed education as a holistic process that develops intellectual, moral, spiritual, and social dimensions of human beings. Furthermore, education functions as the main instrument for producing qualified human resources, strengthening social solidarity ('asabiyyah), and fostering sustainable civilization. The study concludes that Ibn Khaldun's educational thought remains relevant for addressing contemporary educational challenges, particularly in character education, critical thinking, and sustainable human development.

This study aims to analyze the concept of moral-based critical reasoning from the perspective of Islamic educational philosophy and its relevance in addressing educational challenges in the digital era. This research employs a qualitative approach using the library research method. Data were collected from books, scientific journals, academic articles, and other relevant documents discussing critical reasoning, morality, and Islamic educational philosophy. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive-analytical methods through concept identification, classification, interpretation, and synthesis. The findings indicate that critical reasoning in Islamic education is not merely logical thinking but also a process guided by moral and spiritual values. The integration of reason and morality becomes the foundation for developing responsible, ethical, and intelligent learners. Therefore, moral-based critical reasoning contributes to the realization of insan kamil as the ultimate goal of Islamic education.

This study aims to examine the role of early worship habituation in Ibn Khaldun's educational thought and its relevance to character building in Islamic education. This research employed a qualitative approach using a library research method. Data were collected from Ibn Khaldun's works, particularly the Muqaddimah, as well as relevant scholarly journals and academic literature. The data were analyzed using content analysis to identify key concepts related to worship habituation, character formation, and their implications for education. The findings indicate that, according to Ibn Khaldun, early worship habituation serves as a fundamental basis for developing religious character, discipline, responsibility, and noble morals. The success of this habituation is influenced by the role of the family, teachers, and the social environment through consistent role modeling. Continuous habituation enables Islamic values to become deeply embedded in learners' personalities and shape their character into adulthood. This concept remains highly relevant to contemporary education, particularly for Islamic Education students, as a foundation for developing academic competence alongside moral and spiritual integrity

This article examines the role of educators in Islamic tradition through three core concepts: murabbi (holistic mentor), mu’allim (instructor of knowledge), and mu’addib (moral educator). Employing a qualitative approach with a literature review of classical and contemporary sources, the study explores theoretical distinctions and practical overlaps among these roles. Findings indicate that while each concept emphasizes different domains spiritual and character cultivation (murabbi), knowledge transmission (mu’allim), and behavior and ethics formation (mu’addib) they function complementarily within formal education. The article also discusses challenges facing educators in the era of globalization, including curricular constraints, technological dominance, and value pluralism, and proposes integrative strategies to preserve these roles in modern school settings. The conclusion argues for revitalizing murabbi, mu’allim, and mu’addib to achieve a contextual, holistic, and responsive Islamic education.

This study aims to analyze the relevance of Ibn Miskawaih’s moral education concept in addressing students’ moral crisis in the digital era. The development of digital technology has brought positive impacts to education, but it has also created various moral problems such as cyberbullying, the spread of hoaxes, declining manners, social media addiction, and weakening self-control among students. This research employs a qualitative method with a library research approach by collecting data from books, scientific journals, articles, and relevant previous studies. The data were analyzed using content analysis techniques to understand Ibn Miskawaih’s concept of moral education and its application in modern educational contexts. The findings reveal that the concept of Tahdhib al-Akhlaq, which emphasizes habituation of good behavior, self-control, balance between reason and morality, and the exemplary role of teachers and families, is highly relevant in overcoming students’ moral challenges in the digital era. According to Ibn Miskawaih, moral education is not only oriented toward intellectual achievement but also toward character building and students’ spiritual well-being, enabling them to use technology wisely and responsibly.

The pragmatic trend in Islamic higher education has shifted students’ orientation in learning from seeking knowledge as a form of worship to pursuing academic achievement and material benefits. Consequently, the learning process tends to emphasize outcomes, such as grades, academic degrees, and career opportunities, while neglecting spiritual and moral dimensions. This study aims to examine the concept of intention (niyyah) in the learning process according to Imam Al-Ghazali and its implications for Islamic Religious Education (PAI) students amid the crisis of academic pragmatism. This study employed a library research method, with primary data derived from the works of Imam Al-Ghazali and supported by relevant books, journals, and other literature in Islamic education. Data were analyzed using content analysis. The findings reveal that, according to Al-Ghazali, intention is the fundamental basis of learning. Knowledge should be pursued to attain closeness to Allah, improve personal character, and contribute to society. Strengthening proper intentions and practicing self-purification are essential in developing PAI students’ honesty, sincerity, responsibility, and noble character. Al-Ghazali’s educational thought remains relevant in addressing contemporary educational challenges and strengthening character education in Islamic higher education.

This article examines the concept of an educator's compassion toward students in the thought of Imam Al-Ghazali, as articulated in his seminal works Ihya' 'Ulum al-Din and Ayyuha al-Walad. Al-Ghazali places compassion (syafaqah wa rahmah) as one of the primary pillars in the pedagogical relationship between teacher and student. According to him, a true educator must treat students as their own children, guiding them with love, patience, and sincerity without expecting material reward. This study employs a library research method with a content analysis approach to Al-Ghazali's works. The findings indicate that compassion in Al-Ghazali's perspective is not merely an emotional sentiment, but a moral-spiritual commitment manifested in the attitudes, actions, and responsibilities of the educator. This concept is highly relevant to contemporary Islamic education as a response to the crisis of exemplary conduct and the transactional relationships between teachers and students

This article discusses the thoughts of Fazlur Rahman on the reform of Islamic education, which seeks to integrate Islamic traditional values with the demands of modernity. The background of this study is based on the dichotomy between religious education and general education, which has led to an intellectual crisis in the Muslim world. Fazlur Rahman proposes educational reform through the integration of modern science with Qur’anic values and Islamic ethics as the main foundation of education. This study employs a qualitative method with a library research approach through the analysis of Fazlur Rahman’s works and related literature. According to Fazlur Rahman, Islamic education emphasizes the importance of developing individuals who are critical, rational, and morally grounded, as well as capable of responding to contemporary challenges without losing their Islamic identity. He argues that curriculum reform, learning methods, and intellectual development are essential steps in building a progressive Islamic educational system. Fazlur Rahman’s ideas remain relevant as a foundation for the development of contemporary Islamic education that is integrative and adaptive to the advancement of science and technology.

Academic pragmatism in higher education has gradually shifted students’ learning orientation from the pursuit of meaning and moral formation toward grades, degrees, and worldly achievements. This condition has contributed to the weakening of tawadhu’ (humility) in the process of seeking knowledge, including among students of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) as future educators. This article aims to examine the concept of tawadhu’ in seeking knowledge based on the educational thought of Al-Ghazali, and to analyze its relevance as a solution to the crisis of learning orientation faced by PAI students in the modern academic context. This study employs a qualitative approach using library research methods, with primary sources drawn from Al-Ghazali’s major works such as Ihya’ Ulum al-Din and Bidayat al-Hidayah, supported by contemporary scholarly literature. Data were analyzed through content analysis techniques. The findings reveal that tawadhu’ constitutes an essential ethical and spiritual foundation in seeking knowledge, closely linked to sincere intention, purification of the soul, and the practice of knowledge. Revitalizing Al-Ghazali’s concept of tawadhu’ is crucial in shaping PAI students who are not only intellectually competent but also morally and spiritually integrated.

This study critically examines the concept of student independence within the Merdeka Belajar curriculum and identifies the potential emergence of a “pseudo-independence” when independence is interpreted merely as technical freedom without a strong value-based foundation. The research employs a qualitative library research method using content analysis and critical analysis of educational policy documents, Islamic education literature, and previous studies. The findings indicate that independence in Merdeka Belajar is largely oriented toward learning autonomy and self-regulated learning; however, in practice, it may be distorted when detached from moral and spiritual orientation. This condition produces pseudo-independence characterized by confusion in direction, external influence dominance, and pragmatic tendencies in learning processes. The study further reveals that Islamic Education provides a corrective framework through the concepts of taklif, istikhlaf, adab, and the integration of reason and revelation, positioning independence as a form of accountability before Allah. Therefore, the integration of Islamic educational values serves as a crucial foundation for reconstructing student independence so that it is not only academically autonomous but also morally and spiritually grounded.

The family occupies a strategic position as the first educational institution in the process of shaping a child's personality. However, the rapid development of technology, changes in parenting patterns, and the increasing influence of external environments have weakened the educational function of the family, leading to challenges in the formation of children's moral and spiritual values. This study aims to analyze the role of the family as the first educational institution from the perspective of Islamic philosophy. The research employs a qualitative approach using a library research method. Data were collected from the Qur'an, Hadith, books on Islamic educational philosophy, and relevant scientific journal articles. The data were analyzed through content analysis by identifying key concepts, categorizing themes, and interpreting their philosophical meanings. The findings reveal that, in Islamic philosophy, the family is not merely a biological and social unit but also the primary educational institution responsible for nurturing faith, morality, and character. The family serves as the first environment for preserving and developing the child's innate nature (fitrah) through faith-based education, moral guidance, exemplary behavior, and habituation of worship. In the modern era, strengthening the educational role of the family has become increasingly urgent to address moral challenges arising from globalization and digital transformation. Therefore, the family remains the fundamental foundation for achieving the objectives of Islamic education and developing morally upright individuals.

The standard-based curriculum has been widely implemented to improve educational quality, accountability, and effectiveness through measurable learning outcomes. However, within the context of Islamic education, this orientation presents challenges because the primary objective of education extends beyond academic competence to include the development of faith, piety, noble character, and students' spiritual awareness. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of the standard-based curriculum, examine its impact on the spiritual objectives of Islamic education, and formulate an integrative perspective for curriculum development. The research employed a qualitative approach using a library research method. Data were collected from books, national and international journal articles, and educational policy documents, and analyzed through content analysis. The findings indicate that a standard-based curriculum contributes positively to improving instructional quality, educational planning, assessment, and institutional accountability. Nevertheless, an excessive emphasis on achieving academic standards tends to reduce attention to the internalization of spiritual values, character formation, and moral development. Therefore, Islamic education curriculum development should adopt an integrative approach that balances academic competency with spiritual formation through effective learning strategies, habituation, exemplary practices, and comprehensive assessment systems. Such an approach is expected to produce graduates who are not only academically competent but also possess strong spiritual values and Islamic character.

The development of education in the modern era requires a transformation of teachers' roles, no longer limited to transmitting knowledge but also serving as educators who contribute to students’ character and personality development. In the perspective of Islamic education, this role is embodied in the concept of murabbi, an educator responsible for guiding, nurturing, and developing students’ potential in a holistic manner. This study aims to analyze the redefinition of teachers’ roles in Islamic education from mere instructors to educators (murabbi) and to examine its relevance in addressing contemporary educational challenges. The study employs a library research method with a descriptive qualitative approach through the analysis of relevant literature, including books, scholarly articles, and Islamic education journals. The findings reveal that the concept of murabbi positions teachers as role models who not only transfer knowledge but also instill moral, spiritual, and social values in students. The role of teachers as murabbi has become increasingly significant amidst technological advancements and social changes that may influence the character of younger generations. Therefore, strengthening the role of teachers as murabbi is essential to achieving the objectives of Islamic education, namely producing individuals who are knowledgeable, faithful, and possess noble character.

The rapid development of digital technology has significantly transformed learning processes, while simultaneously creating moral challenges such as declining communication ethics, reduced respect for teachers, cyberbullying, and the spread of unverified information. This study aims to analyze Imam Al-Ghazali’s concept of etiquette in seeking knowledge and its relevance to the formation of students’ character in the digital era. This research employs a qualitative library research method. Data were collected from relevant literature, including Al-Ghazali’s works, scholarly journals, and previous studies, and were analyzed using content analysis techniques. The findings reveal that Al-Ghazali’s concept of learning etiquette is founded upon five main pillars: sincerity of intention, purification of the heart, respect for teachers, diligence in learning, and the application of knowledge in daily life. These values are highly relevant to addressing moral challenges in the digital age, as they contribute to the development of students who are disciplined, responsible, ethical, and wise in utilizing technology. Therefore, integrating Al-Ghazali’s educational values into contemporary digital learning can serve as a strategic foundation for nurturing knowledgeable individuals with strong moral character who are capable of navigating modern technological developments wisely and responsibly.

The development of the digital era has created new challenges for Islamic education, particularly in developing a curriculum that integrates technological advancement with Islamic values. This article aims to analyze the implementation of Al-Maqāṣid Al-Sharī‘ah principles in Islamic education curriculum as an effort to respond to changes and educational needs in the digital era. This study employs a library research method by examining relevant literature, academic journals, and educational documents. The findings indicate that Al-Maqāṣid Al-Sharī‘ah can serve as a foundation for curriculum development by strengthening religious values, improving intellectual development, building students’ character, and encouraging responsible use of technology. The implementation of principles such as ḥifẓ al-dīn (preservation of religion) and ḥifẓ al-‘aql (preservation of intellect) plays an important role in developing students who are not only digitally competent but also possess Islamic ethics and moral values. However, its implementation still faces challenges, including negative impacts of technology and changes in students’ behavior. Therefore, an adaptive curriculum development strategy is needed to ensure that Islamic education remains relevant in facing the demands of the digital era.

The acceleration of technology in the 21st century has created a discrepancy between technical competency achievements and the moral-spiritual character resilience of students. This study aims to examine the relevance of Al-Ghazali’s concept of Tazkiyatun Nafs (purification of the soul) as a value architecture in contemporary character education. Using library research and philosophical analysis, this study dissects how takhalli (renunciation of negative traits), tahalli (cultivation of virtues), and tajalli (actualization of values) can function as integrative mechanisms to respond to identity crises and ethical fragility in the digital era. The findings demonstrate that Al-Ghazali’s thought transcends mere cognitive orientation by emphasizing robust emotional-spiritual development. This integration offers a comprehensive curriculum-pedagogy framework, enabling students not only to be digitally proficient but also to possess integrity, responsibility, and social awareness grounded in adab (ethical refinement). Thus, Tazkiyatun Nafs serves as a therapeutic solution for reorienting character education amidst the vortex of modern moral challenges.

This article examines Ibn Khaldun's critique of rote memorization without comprehension in Islamic education and its relevance to modern educational practices. Using a library research approach with content analysis technique, this study explores Ibn Khaldun's thought as articulated in the Muqaddimah and other relevant sources. The findings indicate that Ibn Khaldun viewed education as a process of developing intellect and character, not merely accumulating memorized content. He sharply criticized mechanical teaching methods for weakening students' reasoning capacities. This research finds that such criticism remains highly relevant in addressing the modern educational phenomenon of examination-oriented and rote-memorization-based learning. Ibn Khaldun offers a graduated, comprehension-based, and humanistic learning model suited to the intellectual development of students. By integrating this thought into contemporary Islamic educational curricula, it is hoped that a generation of Muslims will emerge who not only memorize religious texts but also understand, internalize, and apply their values critically and creatively.

The rapid advancement of science and technology in the digital era has created a dichotomy between religious and secular sciences, resulting in fragmented understanding among students. Islamic education requires a holistic paradigm that unites all branches of knowledge within the framework of divine values. The principle of tauhid emphasizes the unity of Allah as the source of all knowledge and serves as a conceptual basis for harmonizing religious teachings with scientific inquiry. This research employs a qualitative approach through library research by analyzing classical and contemporary literature on Islamic education, curriculum development, and the concept of knowledge integration. The findings indicate that the implementation of the tauhid-based curriculum can be realized through integrative learning, contextual teaching strategies, character education, and the incorporation of Islamic values into science subjects. Such an approach encourages students to develop spiritual awareness, scientific literacy, critical thinking skills, and moral responsibility simultaneously. Therefore, the principle of tauhid remains highly relevant as a philosophical foundation for developing an integrated curriculum that responds to contemporary educational challenges while maintaining Islamic values.

This study aims to analyze Al-Farabi's concept of the ideal state and examine the role of education in shaping national character based on his philosophical thought. This research employs a library research method by utilizing various sources, including books, scientific journals, academic articles, and Al-Farabi's works relevant to the topic. The collected data were analyzed using content analysis to identify the relationship between education, character formation, and the concept of the ideal state. The findings reveal that Al-Farabi viewed education as the primary means of developing knowledgeable, virtuous, and socially responsible individuals. In the concept of Al-Madinah Al-Fadhilah, education plays a strategic role in creating citizens who possess moral virtues and contribute to achieving collective happiness. Furthermore, Al-Farabi's ideas remain relevant in addressing contemporary moral challenges, particularly in strengthening character education in Indonesia. Therefore, value-based and moral-oriented education should continue to be developed as a foundation for building a harmonious, ethical, and prosperous society.

One of the most effective approaches to instilling character values is uswah hasanah (exemplary conduct). This article aims to analyze character education through the uswah hasanah approach from the perspective of Islamic educational philosophy and its relevance to contemporary educational challenges. The study employed a library research method using a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected from books and recent scholarly journal articles and analyzed using content analysis techniques. The findings indicate that the uswah hasanah approach has a strong philosophical foundation in Islamic education because it emphasizes exemplary behavior as the primary means of internalizing moral and spiritual values. Teachers, parents, and leaders serve as role models whose actions significantly influence students' character development. In the digital era, this approach remains highly relevant for nurturing a generation with integrity, responsibility, social awareness, and noble morals (akhlaq al-karimah). Therefore, character education through exemplary conduct is an effective strategy for achieving the objectives of Islamic education, namely producing insan kamil (well-rounded individuals) who are capable of adapting to modern developments while preserving Islamic values.

This research uses a qualitative approach through library research by analyzing classical and contemporary Islamic education literature. The results show that the implementation of the insan kamil concept in MI can be realized through integrative curriculum development, character education, habituation of worship, teacher exemplary behavior, and digital literacy based on Islamic values. In the modern era, MI not only functions as a place for knowledge transfer but also as a center for forming students with noble character, critical thinking, creativity, and strong religious commitment. Therefore, the concept of insan kamil remains highly relevant as the philosophical foundation of Islamic education to answer contemporary educational challenges.

The study is motivated by the phenomenon of modern education, which tends to emphasize academic achievement and fosters a competitive culture that may lead to intellectual arrogance and weaken moral values. This research uses a library research method with a qualitative approach by analyzing Al-Ghazali’s works such as Ihya’ Ulumuddin and Ayyuhal Walad, along with other relevant literature. The findings indicate that arrogance among students arises from a misguided orientation in seeking knowledge, where knowledge is used as a means to gain praise, status, and social recognition. Al-Ghazali emphasizes that preventing arrogance can be achieved through tazkiyatun nafs (purification of the soul), strengthening proper ethics (adab), correcting intention, and practicing knowledge in daily life. Thus, education should not only focus on intellectual achievement but also on the formation of moral character and spiritual development of students.

The Society 5.0 era presents both opportunities and challenges for Islamic education, particularly in maintaining a balance between digital competence and spiritual intelligence. This study aims to analyze the importance of integrating these two aspects in developing Muslim generations who are capable of adapting to technological advancements while preserving Islamic values. This research employs a qualitative approach using a library research method. Data were collected from various scientific sources, including books, national and international journals, and relevant policy documents. The data were analyzed through content analysis to identify concepts, challenges, and strategies for developing digital competence and spiritual intelligence within Islamic education. The findings reveal that digital competence is an essential skill for responding to the demands of Society 5.0; however, it must be balanced with spiritual intelligence as a moral and ethical foundation for the responsible use of technology. The integration of digital literacy, Islamic digital ethics, character education, and strengthened collaboration among families, schools, and communities are key strategies for achieving this balance. Therefore, Islamic education can produce generations who are technologically proficient, morally grounded, and capable of utilizing technology for the benefit of society and humanity.

This research employs a qualitative approach through library research by analyzing various scholarly literature related to Islamic educational philosophy and teacher professionalism. The findings reveal that the concept of murabbi emphasizes holistic development encompassing intellectual, spiritual, emotional, moral, and social dimensions. A murabbi is responsible not only for transferring knowledge but also for nurturing values, character, and religious commitment among learners. Therefore, the transformation of teachers into murabbi figures is essential to address contemporary educational challenges and to produce individuals who possess knowledge, faith, and noble character. The study concludes that strengthening the murabbi paradigm can improve the quality and relevance of Islamic education in modern society.

The rapid development of digital technology has significantly influenced the character formation of students in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (Islamic elementary schools), particularly through the emergence of moral and ethical crises characterized by declining respect for teachers and parents, weakened self-control, and reduced spiritual awareness. This condition reflects a shift in educational orientation that prioritizes academic achievement over character and personality development. This study aims to analyze the concept of Insan Kamil within the framework of Islamic educational objectives and examine its relevance as a solution to the moral challenges faced by students in the digital era. This research employs a library research method using data derived from books, scientific journals, and educational documents related to Islamic education, the concept of Insan Kamil, and character education. The collected data were analyzed using content analysis techniques through the processes of identification, categorization, and interpretation of relevant themes. The findings indicate that the concept of Insan Kamil remains highly relevant as an Islamic educational paradigm that promotes a balance between intellectual, spiritual, moral, and social dimensions. Its implementation can be carried out through strengthening ta’dib (adab education), digital role modeling by teachers, character-based evaluation systems, and collaboration between schools and families. Therefore, the integration of digital technology and adab education is a strategic approach to developing knowledgeable, morally upright, and highly integrated generations in accordance with the goals of Islamic education.

Islamic educational philosophy plays a strategic role in developing a monotheism-based educational paradigm. This paradigm seeks to make the values ​​of faith in Allah the primary foundation for all aspects of education, including curriculum, methods, and ultimate goals. This article examines the concept of monotheism as the core of Islamic educational philosophy and its relevance in addressing the challenges of modern education. This research employed qualitative methods with a descriptive-analytical approach. The results demonstrate that monotheism-based education can shape complete human beings capable of harmonizing spiritual, intellectual, and moral aspects. Therefore, implementing a monotheism-based educational paradigm is essential for developing a generation with character and responsibility, both individually and socially. In addition, tauhid-based education provides a solution to overcome the dualism of education by harmonizing religious and secular knowledge. This approach helps students maintain their Islamic identity while remaining open to the development of science and technology that is in accordance with Islamic values. Therefore, the philosophy of Islamic education based on tauhid not only offers a strong conceptual foundation but also has practical relevance in developing an educational system that guides students toward success and well-being in both worldly life and the hereafter.

This study explores the relevance of Al-Ghazali’s concept of tazkiyatun nafs (purification of the soul) in 21st-century character education. The research focuses on how spiritual values such as muhasabah (self-reflection), mujahadah (self-control), and the habituation of noble character can address moral crises, weak self-regulation, and the negative impacts of digital technology on youth. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the study emphasizes the integration of intellectual, emotional, and spiritual dimensions into character education curricula. Findings reveal that tazkiyatun nafs strengthens moral resilience, mental health, and helps shape a generation that is not only digitally competent but also morally upright and spiritually grounded. This concept is highly relevant as a contextual, practical, and adaptive strategy for modern character education.
